Best Italian risotto so far... – Very good restaurant in Bellevue. I'm Italian and when my friends suggested risotto I wasn't sur eit was a good idea...It is nor easy to find a chef around Seattle that can produce a creamy risotto using Arborio rice! They did! It was perfect! Even the use of wine was absolutely impeccable in the dish (sometimes chefs around here thinks that since this is an Italian dish you have to get drunk eating it!!!). Highly recommended!!

Ultimate! – The new Halibut dish at Pearl Bar & Dining in Bellevue promises several of my favorite things and delivers on most.

The cut of fish is substantial, thick and moist; it takes to the pan roasting well.

Too often there is a negative association with the brussel sprout, Chef Bradley Dickinson has carefully separated the leaves of this delicate veg revealing it’s tenacious spirit, lending a bright reflection; to the delicate flake of the halibut both are complimented by a silky sauce and rendered bacon crisps.

The Foie Gras; a sultry thought, is almost lost in the competition between pork belly and brussels.

I have never been much of a butterscotch fan and was led only by my friends request to order the sundae. The ice cream has the same rich and thick texture reminiscent of summers spent with my grandparents in the country, of sitting atop the old fashioned churn while grandpa cranked and salted ice fell out around my ankles.

The bite sized pecan brittle tempted me further into the glass cup and a pairing with Singleton Scotch by the bartender was nothing short of perfect, cutting the cloyingly sweet nature of the butterscotch with crisp precision.

Great place to meet – I have been here 6 or 7 times and never had a bad experience. The staff is friendly and efficient (even pretty good during a busy Saturday evening). The cocktails are great, martinis are great and I have been told that the whisky sour is really good by two different friends.

I have tried several appetizers, I really like the prawns and the calamari- perhaps the calamari could have used more sauce to dip-

The servers are alway pleasant- and the support staff seems to always have a smile and are attentive also.

I can say that I will be back- probably many times.

Great Happy Hour- Better Dinner in all of Bellevue – Pearl Bar and Dining is one of the best places in all of Bellevue and Seattle! It accomidates everyone, they have a fabulous Happy Hour if your looking to not spend a ton of money but want quality food, this is the place for you. They have a wonderful selection of food on Happy hour ranging from crab cakes ( like 95% crab meat, it was outstanding) Savory chicken, yummy chicken with big white beans and a savory sauce, and my favorite the pork sliders, you get 3 of them for $5! You cannot beat that! When we came in it was about 5pm, so we had an hour left of happy hour, even though our reservation was a 5pm they let us sit in the bar to get the drinks and apps and then we moved to the dining room for the rest of our meal. We didnt feel rushed at all, they were warming and welcoming! Our server Jason was just outstanding, he didnt rush us and didnt over bother us...which i cant stand! All in all i think anyone should try Pearl! Business, partys, just yourself going out for dinner, it fits everyone.

Overpriced and Underperformed – My first impression upon entering was that I had entered a funeral home. Dark, cold and quiet. Nothing about the ambience said cozy or exciting. Metallic grey walls looked as if they hadnt been finished when completing the restaurant. Possibly due to the slow economy? Who knows.

What I do know is that they charge a hefty amount for food that is substandard and unexciting. $20+ dollars for chicken and fries. At that price it had better be the best that I have ever had, and it wasnt. Fries were extremely oily and not crisp at all. Felt like they were under the heat lamp for a while and they still served them to me.

Appetizers didnt fare much better. Spicy prawns were extremely overcooked, to the point of being unedible. On top of that, they sat atop a pool of oil. When I inquired to the server, she told me it was a spicy garlic butter. Never seen anything like that before. Yuck!! Crab cake tasted much better, but again the fries that came with it were cold and oily.

Other entrees didnt fare any better. Filet was underseasoned, maybe none at all. They call themselves a 4 star establishment and the mashed potatoes had to be the worst that I have ever had; brown and hard. Not creamy and soft like they should be. 4 stars and cant even get the mashed potatoes right? Must I say more.

Bellevue offers SO MANY BETTER OPTIONS in this price range.

Great spot on the eastside, good drinks and food – Met a friend here on a Tues. night to celebrate. We got 3 of their small bites (ahi tuna-AMAZING!, shrimp and vegetable tempura - very good, crab cake - lots of fresh lump crab meat), 2 desserts (white chocolate banana cream - yumm and triple chocolate - very rich, need to share this one), 5 cocktails (strawberry mojito, shiso wild drop - both drinks were excellent!) all for $113!! The food was all very good and before we got our food we were drooling over the smell of other people's food. Our waitress was amazing and worked well with our slow-paced meal. Of course, parking is very easy with valet or parking inside Lincoln Square. By the time we finished our meal, their happy hour had started back up, so we headed to their bar to enjoy 1/2 off their specialty drinks. We will definitely be going back!
