You can find much better. – Smelly locker rooms, very rude staff, constantly over crowded and equipment that doesn't always work. The managers patrol the treadmills at all times, kicking people off at their discretion. I would not recommend this gym.
Too overcrowded – This gym is very small and always crowded because management is always offering specials to sign up new members. The limit your time on cardio equipment to 30 minutes total and this is not during defined times but at management's discretion so you could be in the middle of a long run at an offpeak time and management can simply kick you off without even allowing for a cool down. I will not spend another dollar at this gym and even went as far as joining a new gym despite having time left on my current membership at WPF.
the best gym I've been to in wicker park/bucktown – I cannot say enough about WPF!! love this place and so thankful they open in my hood. No problem working out here and never really feels over crowded. Thank God i no longer feel forced to go to Cheetah and have to worry about them over charging me every month... Ask for Dave when you get here, he really knows his stuff and cares about his customers!
Great local Gym – Wicker Park Fitness rocks!!!!! I have been a member since they first opened about a year ago. If you live near by this is great place to get in shape and meet new and cool people. Dave and Teddy who run the gym are great guys and always willing to help their members out. The review below from cs1984 seems a bit off... I have not had any problems stated and I workout 6days a week at different times. See for yourself and I am sure you will find Wicker Park Fitness to be a great neighborhood.
Horrible Wait Times, Not Enough Equipment – This is a fairly new gym, so I thought that joining would mean always enough equipment. Not true. It is so crowded, it's insane. I always have to wait to exercise on any cardio machines. The staff is rude and pretty incompetent, too. It seems everyone has joined in the neighborhood, but I don't know a single person who is happy with it. It is cheap, but there are just too many people and not enough equipment. It's outrageous. I can't wait until my membership is over.
Best neighborhood gym in Wicker Park area – If you live in the wicker park area and hate the big gym feel and non personal touch you will love wicker park fitness! The owner & Ted are great people always there and very helpful. awesome workout classes and personal trainers! such a great value!!
