Great Work, Creativity and Fun Experience! – I trust Mayra to do what she thinks will look best. She is creative in her work and honest in her consultaions. Most of all, I enjoy talking with her while she is cutting and coloring my hair and that makes the experience super fun! Thanks for always making me smile Mayra!
Myra is excellent – I really love my hair every time I walk out of Chinchilla Salon. I went from long curly hair to very, very short and have loved my transformation. The owner, Myra, is an excellent stylist - even with curly hair.
Good Cut – this is a hip local spot, i ended up stopping in on my way to trader joes since i really needed a hair cut. the girl did a nice job, and the price was good. i'll go back again
Myra is the best! – Myra is a great stylist, she gave me the best cut of my life! The salon is cute, and in a great location. I am so glad that I foung it!
I LOVE Hairdooz, David is amazing and I finally have a local salon!! – My criteria for a salon was purely location, I'd been driving from Los Feliz to my stylist in Beverly Hills and just cant deal deal any more.
Parking is a pain in the butt, but if you take the advice of some in the area, the Trader Joes employee lot is fine, and not monitored.
I had no appointment scheduled so figured a hipstere salon in Los Feliz would be a long-shot to get a hair cut on a saturday... However, I was lucky enough to catch the owner David between clents.
The location, building and vibe are all great, it's clean, simple and no 'big salon' stress.
David is my hero this week! I'd been hating my style for so long, and David did an amazing job not only listening to what I asked for, but also putting enough of his expertise in to get me the perfect cut and style.
David will definitely be styling my hair again in the future, and I recommend Hairdooz to anyone who wants a great cut and style and fair price.
Color was fine, but don't let David cut or dry your hair – I had seen some great reviews for this place, so despite the name I took a chance, hoping the neighborhood place would work out for me. It's convenient, the owner, David, is remarkably sweet. It's clean.
But I have to say, that was the worst hair cut ever.
I went back the next day and he graciously trimmed a little in an effort to fix it, but the cut just looks random. After the first attempt, someone asked me if I'd cut it myself. After the second, nothing.
I think the problem was I wanted something that requires little maintenance. I had a great cut previously but i wasn't up to drying it with a hairdryer every morning.
I wasnt' upset enough to write a negative review, figuring it was my fault for trusting a stranger, until I went back to David for color. The cut had been bad, but he did a lovely job on my color. This time, he touched up the color -- very nice. Then he spent half an hour using a dryer to dry a haircut specifically designed (or so I thought) not to need that -- and he dried it so it curled up and out at the ends, while the layer underneath showed flat. I looked like I was wearing a bad Mary Tyler Moore wig on top of my real longer hair.
It's not just me -- my friends are begging me to get this fixed, although if i dry it under it's tolerable. I've just had to wait a month or so because I don't want my only option to be baldness....
I have a feeling you can get a decent cut there if you know exactly what you want -- it's just not the place to say, do something easy and different.
Perfect dooz for over 20 years – I've had my hair cut and colored here for over 20 years, and I have never left unhappy. My husband and son also have their hair cut here, and each of us has definite ideas about what we want. The stylists listen to each of us, and yet also have ideas about how to achieve what we need from that appointment. So, whether you're like me and have reached the age when good color really helps add spark to the perfect cut I've gotten, or are like my son who wants it left as long as possible and have it still qualify as a haircut, you will find what you are looking for at Hairdooz. They are all highly skilled stylists who really listen and have great ideas, and they are genuinely nice people.
A great place to do your Doo! – I've been going to HairDooz for over a decade now. I used to live in Los Feliz and passed the store while running errands, etc. I thought I'd give the neighborhood salon a try. I used to have Pat cut my hair, but she retired so then I gave Myra a shot. Fast forward 10 years and I'm still with Myra. And I don't even live in the neighborhood any more. Having Myra cut my hair is like putting on a favorite pair of jeans: comfortable and reassuring. Myra is great fun and very professional. I always leave looking like a million bucks and she has got me to try different looks that I would not have thought of for myself.
The shop itself is very clean and comfortable. The rest of the staff is fun to talk to as well. My visits to Hairdooz is a nice oasis during my chaotic LA life.
Great haircut and color - Myra is an artist with hair! – Myra at Hair Dooz is the best hairstylist I have ever known. She has seen me through years of good hair. She makes me feel hip and beautiful and energized. The salon is classy and artsy and friendly. A great experience that I look forward to month to month. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Best Haircut You'll Ever Have! – I found Hairdooz several years back just wandering in - what a stroke of luck! It's a friendly neighborhood shop that will give you a cut that makes you feel like a million bucks! David Beckman, the owner, is one of the best stylists I've ever come across. He knows how to steer clients to keep their looks fresh but also really respects personal preference and style and somehow finds a brilliant balance between these goals each and every time. I recommend this salon to all of my friends that are most dear to me - you'll never go anywhere else again if you give them a try.
