Manhattan Beach's mainstay for surf & turf heads downtown. – Pouncing on Downtown L.A.'s long overdue resurgence, this rockin' seafood joint is giving Angelenos a taste of why its original Manhattan Beach location has been a favorite since 2000. More than twice the size of its 90-person beachside space, the two-story L.A. Live digs offer an oyster and cocktail bar at the entrance, comfy booths and banquettes and an outdoor covered patio. The menu is an ode to aquatic edibles (shrimp, lobster, clams, crab, calamari, salmon, halibut) but there's plenty of turf options to balance the surf (the Kapalua ribeye is among their signature meat entrees). Thanks to the oak grill, options like the "famous" oak-grilled artichoke served with garlic aioli are must-haves. Salads such as the blue cheese wedge (they make the dressing themselves) come in half and full sizes, and the seafood jambalaya is a spicy, perfectly seasoned heap of clams, shrimp, fish and andouille sausage in a creamy Cajun sauce. As for dessert, do not leave without ordering the sticky toffee pudding, a glorious sugar rush of moist toffee cake topped with yummy toffee sauce.

BEST PLACE TO EAT DOWNTOWN – Ok, if you haven't had a chance to visit the Manhattan Beach location, the new Rock'N Fish located in the LA LIVE complex is worth a trip. My favs - start with a Nayy Grog, order the Blue Cheese Wedge and then feast on the Seafood Jambalya. This place is destined to be a downtown favorite!
