disillusioned – I recently moved to the neighborhood, and was eager to try the local fare - Cornelius seemed to stand out in the neighborhood: nice ambiance, great location, interesting menu, and friendly staff. I visited the restaurant on a Friday evening, yet there were very few people present - about a half dozen bar patrons, and a couple at a table. I waited an hour and half mor my meal, hoping that the wait was worth it, but was disappointed at what was presented at my table. As I was hungry, and had waited so long, I chose to bite the bullet, so to speak - the food was exceptionally greasy and oddly overindulgent in flavor (if there can be such a thing). The roasted potatoes were undercooked, yet dripping with oil, while the wilted spinach was sopping with grease. Though the menu is creative, and the chefs seem eager, there seems to be a lack of basic culinary knowledge - an attempt to be something that is out of their league. Though the prices are comparable to other quality local restaurants, Cornelius' prices do not reflect the quality of food.

Disappointing – I was excited to dine here as it is in my new neighborhood and my boyfriend is a whiskey fan. However when we arrived, we stood for ten minutes before being approached to be seated. This restaurant must have 60 seats and there was one waitress allocated to serve and bus all of them. Two bartenders at the bar and two managers standing around barely did anything to help her. We felt so bad for her - we had to ask for bread, and ask to place our order. The food was mediocre - not worth the prices charged.

I was really happy to hear about this place when it opened. My boyfriend and I walked over and the food and drinks were fantastic. The meal was affordable and delicious and I find my self craving it often, particularly the Pear Prosecco and the grilled romaine salad. We shared our salad but on our second trip over we ordered our own stuff, we liked it that much.

The list of spirits is impressive, and the staff can speak further on most items if you have any questions.

Vanderbilt's really stepping it up these days, and Cornelius is a great addition. The world needs more whisky bars, and I'm glad Cornelius is there for me.

Prospect Heights enters the gastropub game with this spirits-and-food depot with an affinity for whiskey. – Prospect Heights' barhopping scene gets a boost with this gastropub specializing in copious brown spirits, cocktails and gussied-up comfort grub. This corner drinkery takes its name and style from train tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt and boasts a mahogany ceiling, cozy banquettes and a tile-topped bar, where mixologist Somer Perez devised a menu featuring cocktails both classic (think old-fashioneds) and novel. The apple-ginger margarita playfully tweaks the original, while the Long Island Railroad combines chai tea, whiskey, bourbon, lemon juice and Grand Marnier. For the liquor-averse, rotating draft beers are available.

Hits: In a sedate setting, you can partake in hundreds of top-shelf spirits, expertly rendered cocktails and enough stomach-satisfying food to stave off tomorrow's hangover.

Misses: Unless you have an unlimited budget, keep track of how much you order: Multiple $10 cocktails quickly add up. And although the decorations are elegant, they feel a tad slapdash.

Has come a long way – I am really impressed with the improvements of this spot. I went there a while back just when it opened and let me tell you it was HORRIBLE but gave it one more chance when my friend was having her birthday party there. Long story short is I had a great server and the food was much much better ... so happy I gave it another chance!

Yum YUm – I love Noo Na from everything to the decor to the really tasty comfort korean food. The prices are pretty resonable, the service good as well. Sometimes the delivery can take a long time but its worth the wait.

Late nite :) – My friends and I were so thrilled to find a place that serves good food late nite. There is nothing in the Heights that does this, and they make really good girly drinks and some sort of infused vodka. This will be my new Friday nite hang.

Pretty good – Foods alright, but I like the bar crowd and the lounge is pretty sweet. The staff here is easy going, and its a pretty mixed younger crowd at the bar.

Nice prices, left feeling full and relaxed – Noo Na is dope. The food is reasonably priced and they have a really large selection of vegeterian items which I love because I'm vegan. I was surprised because I thought most Korean food had a lot of pork. The service is awesome and I left without spending too much money. I will be back there soon!

Cheap Eats, Happy Service, Good atmosphere – I love Noo na, and it is so refreshing to have such a great place on vanderbilt where the food is good and the people all know your name. The staff is knowledgable on their Korean cuisine, and they have such great small plates.. I LOVE the whiting ! The service is very attentive, and they go the extra mile here. I will support Noo Na for a long time, I even took my family there.
