The worst Indian food Buffet! – Probably the worst tasting INDIAN food Buffet!
Definitely not made from scratch!
The food tasted like they opened up a can or pouch of curry and added meat/ vegetables! Gave us heart burn!
Please note that we (about five couples) had been to Saffron and ordered off the dinner menu once before and the food was okay.
It is the buffet that was really disappointing if you're Indian.
If you're not familiar with Indian food and are okay with imitation Indian food then the buffet might be tolerable.
After that experience I started following my rule of thumb: If you go to an Indian restaurant and don't find a lot of Indians eating there, it's not authentic and probably doesn't get a lot of regular customers.
Saffron: Please use this criticism constructively. The service and ambience was great. Some (not all) of the items we had ordered from the dinner menu were great. It is the buffet that really needs work.
Again, this comes from people familiar with Indian cuisine.
Rather than using instant curry masala, try doing what you do during dinner.
Till we hear different from our friends and colleagues, it's good bye to Saffron!
Fortunately, I found some great authentic Indian cusine in other parts of Charlotte.
Safron is a unique but, traditional Indian restaurant. – This restaurant has the most friendliest staff members, they will go out of their way to help and please customers. The food is excellent their is great variety in the menu, I promise that each item is enjoyable. I encourage people with the habit of eating good food to visit Safron soon! If you go once you will keep on going again and again.
Very Good! – Food was very flavorful and the buffet was excellent. Great spot for lunch. Highly recommended......
A nice buffet for someone wanting to try Indian food – I have had Indian cuisine a few times so I am no expert, but I enjoyed my lunch at Saffron today. The food was nicely flavored and aromatic and cooked beautifully. Often meat on buffets can tend to be overcooked and tough, but Safforn's was tender and perfectly cooked.
The staff was attentive without being obtrusive.
I look forward to going back again.
