Horrible customer service – "WHY DON'T YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND AND CALL BACK!" I BELIEVE IT WAS WITHIN A MINUTE OR TWO TIME PERIOD AND SHE COULD NOT WAIT FOR MY DECISION ON THE ORDER. WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE.
excellent tai food but owners family (I think sister) could use some lessons in customer service... – I would always go to Siam House, atleast 2x weekly after work. I work down the street so it was always so conveniant. I did this for atleast a year or more until this past Valentines Day. I actually haven't been back there since. You see I'm a professional female who would feel comfortable sitting in a booth facing the window in the main dining area alone. Unfortunately, I worked Valentines Day and after work did my ritual and stopped by Siam House to grab some dinner. I was alone and feeling a little melancholy because I had just lost my mom to a longterm illness and was going through a divorce. When I entered the door I didn't recognize the woman greeting me but I think she said she was the owners sister. She asked,"how many"? And I replied," just one and I'd like the booth". she immediately said I couldn't sit there that they were reserved for two or more. It was 4:30 in the afternoon and the restaurant was empty!! I was speechless and then told her I was going to just go, I was embarassed and hurt. I guess I was feeling sorry for myself. She said,"o.k.". Just like that and was going to let a customer walk out! I just couldn't stand it and asked for the management. Thats when she said she was in charge. I then preceded to tell her I eat there all year long and it's o.k. then but on a Holiday because its just me I'm kicked to the curb. She finally said fine and sat me at a booth. I should of left but really wanted tai food and it was the principle of it all. I ate my whole meal in less than 45 minutes and not one person sat at the tables she said were reserved. I just want people to know they are not always customer sensitive, atleast this woman wasn't. Someone later told me they had a similar run in at Siam House. I just hope the owner reads these reviews because that should never happen to anyone ever again. Other than that the food is awesome. Unfortunately, I haven't been back the experiance left a bad taste in my mouth!
Understated suburban restaurant surprises downtown Boston palates with outstanding Thai cuisine. – The Scene
A quiet bar leads patrons into the dining room, where a gold-adorned elephant marches overhead on a black tapestry beside decorative lace fans. Suburban couples and families peruse corduroy menus that match the dark green tablecloths beneath glass tabletops, each decorated with a fresh rose. Large windows in the front frame a busy main street.
Unlike typical Thai restaurants, the focus here isn't on noodles so much as on seafood and meat dishes. The Seafood Madness proves delightful and extremely fresh, arriving with sauteed shrimp, tender scallops and squid served with ground hot chili, Thai spices and herbs, mushrooms, hot peppers, onions and basil leaves--all atop steamed mussels. Try the loveable Shrimp in Love, enlivened by pineapple chunks and cashew nuts perfectly matched with oyster sauce. Dessert options include deep-fried banana wrapped in pastry with ice cream and shredded coconut meat.
pad thai – GOOD FOOD W/ FAST SERVICE FOR LUNCHTIME. ABLE TO GO THERE AND EAT IN UNDER AN HOUR. ALSO A PLUS IS THAT THERE MENU IS FREE OF MSG.
