Just Say No – If your trying India food for the first time, I think that can be the only way for someone to this is good India dining. Do yourself a favor and go to Harvard Square or India Quality for good Indian food. I feel like the most important part of Indian food is the curry and sauces used in dishes and all the sauces here are just so watery. I've come here three times over four years wondering if its gotten better and it definitely hasn't. I won't make the mistake of returning again.
Atmosphere never outweighs taste. – I was dying to eat Indian food for quite some time until I came upon this place. I walked in the door around 2:30 P.M. hoping there might be a buffet. Nope, that's just on weekends. It was such a nice day to eat outside so I asked for my order to-go. I was told I would order off the dinner menu? I thought to myself it was still a little early for a dinner menu. After I looked at the menu I knew I couldn't get out the door without coughing up 15 bucks. I ordered lamb curry. ($14) I told the Indian guy up front that I didn't want it sweet and however he would eat it, that's the way I wanted it. While I was waiting for the food which took only 5 minutes to cook, surprisingly, I said to the guy up front; "Is it true that Indian restaurants put sugar in the curries if you're American because they think Americans like sugar?" "Yes, it is true," he said. I said, "I hate when they do that. it's nasty!" So, I get my food which comes in two small (whipped butter type) containers instead of your standard styrofoam box. Sure enough it was sweet as can be. It tasted like they used tomato sauce out of a can as the base instead of real tomatoes. I only got one tiny poppadom and the jalapeno/mint sauce was very weak in flavor. The thing that irritated me the most was seeing the lunch menu while I was waiting and realizing I just paid double, and it wasn't even dinner time!
Paradise Lost – I love Indian Food and have a few favorite places to go in the Boston area. India Paradise is not one of them. With such a prime location, I had high hopes for this place- but they fell very short. The sauce almost seems like it is water added to a packet of seasoning- not authentic Indian cuisine and not reccomended.
Really good Indian food – I truly enjoy this place. I recommend the dinner for two, it's a fantastic bargain. Quality food, nice people working there, and a great value. Try it out!
Newton Centre's go-to spot for fresh Indian fare maintains a comfy, nondescript environment. – In Short
India Paradise stands out from other neighborhood Indian eateries thanks to its assortment of beverages, including Indian beer and specialty cocktails made with exotic liquors and juices. Otherwise, the lengthy menu features all the familiar favorites (spicy Mulligatawny soup, tandoori dishes, piquant vindaloos) and a plethora of fresh baked naans. South Indian specialties include dosas (thin crepes) stuffed with chicken or lamb masala. Mango ice cream and milky rice pudding cool off tingling tongues.
an ok place – being an Indian, I found this place little bit different other than regular same old dumb tikka-masala's available everywhere. While eating I felt it was like the same taste what I cook, a little bit. Worth the place for my taste and they make it like I want/cook ;-)
Absolutely Amazing Everything – I absolutely love Indian food but am a bit particular, especially in regards to Tikka Masala and Naan. India Paradise's food is absolutely to die for, and the waitstaff couldn't have been any better. They understand that getting a drink should take a minute and not ten (how hard is it to fill up a glass or grab a bottle of beer--I recommend King Fisher). Also, every time I have gone, they have been polite and friendly. The restaurant is usually quiet despite a full house and can be romantic.
