WARNING: Very competitive. – This is strictly a show stable.

People are KNOWN for coming to the barn with one horse, coming out with another. They don't accept anything but the top, even if you cannot afford it. They push you to show, and barely teach to tack up and care for horses. Although it is good care, the price is constantly going up, and they will give anything to win at shows. It is a good place for people who are VERY competitive.

Competitiveness and horsemanship go hand in hand at this family-run show barn. – If you're looking for a show stable with years of experience in the business, you've found your place.

A riding stable since 1965, this 16-acre farm is operated by sisters Nancy Venezia and Pat Harnois. They took over the operation from their parents, the founders of the farm.

For more than 30 years children and adults have been saddling up to learn hunt seat horseback riding. Today the farm offers eight school horses and four instructors. There are two outdoor rings with an indoor ring expected to open this summer.

While many folks seek out this Cape Cod farm because it is a show stable participating in 60 shows a year, pleasure riders also take lessons. Whether it's for pleasure or show, horsemanship is stressed here. They teach the rider how to ride and care for the horse. It's their belief a rider and horse must know each other to a certain degree in order for riding to be done properly.

Lessons are $50 for a private hour, $25 for a private half-hour, $18 for a semiprivate half-hour and $40 for a semiprivate hour. Group lessons are taught by special request. The farm does not rent horses.

Expect a professional barn with a competitive edge.
