Great west dennis chicken sandwich and fried seafood – This palce is sociable, and quite yummy. It takes a while to get your food, but you are waited on by friendly folks and appetizers(Not free, I wish!) The prices are kind of high, but it is pretty worth it. I recommend the tavern chicken with the sauce on it, and the specials are great.Big menu and good food. Try it out!
Skip It and Stay Home – We arrived at 5 pm to an empty hostess podium. The hostess arrived within a minute and immediately asked if our party of five could fit in a booth. No "Hello", No "Welcome to Jason's"....just "Can you all fit in a booth?" My husband answered that it all depended on the size of the booth. We thought they must be pressed for space if they wanted to fit us all in a small booth....but to our surprise, only four tables were occupied in the main dining area. The hostess led us to a table and plopped down our menus...no talk of specials...no talk of who our waitress would be. Not a big deal but it goes along with the unfriendly nature of the staff there.
Our waitress had the same demeanor of the hostess. No mention of the specials of the day. Just "Can I take your drink order?" and "Are you ready to order?" She did come over once during the meal to see if our food was okay. That was the extent of our interaction with the waitress.
The food was good. We ordered scallops - both fried and baked. Both dishes were cooked, as described, and tasted fresh and delicious. I found the portions to be average and the prices slightly above average. My son ordered a burger off the kid's menu. The waitress informed us that they charge extra for cheese. I can't remember a time when a kid's burger was extra for cheese. We sprung for the slice of cheese.
We waited over ten minutes for the waitress to come back and collect our credit card. Finally, we gave up and presented it to the bartender. The waitress did appear again - unaware that we had already presented the credit card to the bartender.
Overall, the food was acceptable but the service was marginal. I certainly wouldn't recommend this as a stop on anyone's vacation itinerary. You might be better off just grilling at home...and paying wholesale for your kid's slice of cheese.
