TERRA LUNA is my new favorite favorite – I went to TERRA LUNA for the first time this fall and fell head over heels. I had the most beautiful romantic dinner. The building is very Cape Cod shabby chic with exposed pine beams and cool local artwork. we started out with a cocktail, The Joyride and settled into reading the menu. The Agro Salad was delicious, watercress with toasted pistachios and a lemon vinaigrette was light but very flavorful. The Artichoke Heart Pate was also simple but very delicious ( it was also enough for 2). We had Lobster Oregonata over Angel Hair and it was exquisite (the housemade breadcrumbs were a real nice touch) and the Menu Cod dish was a work of art. The crisp crust was a nice counter balance to the remainder of the dish, the gnocchi, mushroom and asparagus in a light broth. For dessert we shared a Polenta Custard and some Cognac. I thorughly recommend TERRA LUNA and I can't wait to head back. Bring a date and experience what going out for dinner on a date should be all about.

TERRA LUNA a beautiful Outer Cape experience – TERRA LUNA, it seems from the other reviews you either love it or hate it. I LOVE it. I find it very interesting that someone can have a bad night out and condemn an entire restaurant. I'm sure that whatever the OTHER two A#$holes do for a living they are MASTERS in their field. Such anger and contempt. I work in this business and JERKS like the last reviewer are a dime a dozen (make that a Baker's dozen). Rude crude and boring. You have a subscription to F&W and sudenly you think that you are Craig Claiborne. Advice: try reading the magazine instead of leaving on your coffee table.

Anyway, I have eaten there several times over the years and have had amazing meals. The Cod is excellent. It is not fried, it is pan roasted. The crust is crisp and the fish is finished in the pan with the remaining ingredients, mushrooms, asparagus and gnocchi. It is topped with a GARNISH of olive tapenade. It is not a side, it is a garnish. The portion size is fine. The last guy wants it all SUPERSIZED (so go to Red Lobster for the seafood lover in you). I have also had the Salmon, it has a salt crust, which gets very crisp when pan fried. The salt on the fish compliments the sweetness of the red and yellow baby carrots, as does the lemon confit garnish.

The Sicilian Littlemecks is also an old favorite. Local littleneck clams with spicy Italian sausage and roasted garlic in a tomato sauce over linguine is delicious. All the flavors blending together in the sauce are perfect. The new Vegan Lasagna is simply perfect. The eggplant, zucchini and tomatoes are all roasted (the zucchini is pleasantly crisp) and the pinenut "Ricotta" is inspired. It's deceptively filling. I was there the other night and had the Sole special and it was great. Pan fried with a sauce of spiced almonds and large golden sultanas and a sweet butter, it was served with arborio rice and perfectly al dente Haricot Vert.

TERRA LUNA is an amazing restaurant. GREAT FOOD iwith a cozy quirky Outer Cape vibe ambience.

Should be renamed ?Terribly Mediocre? -- passe, overhyped, overpriced! – WE WILL NEVER GO BACK! The menu is tired and has remained unchanged over the last couple of years. Bland, uninspired appetizers and entrees, insipid hosting and clueless staff. Our first experience there was telling. We ordered the heirloom tomato and buffalo mozzarella appetizer ?special.? The tomatoes tasted more like potatoes! As our busperson took away the barely eaten dish, she mentioned that folks were complaining about them. Got to move that produce, I guess. On our last try, a $27 cod entree our waitress recommended consisted of a bland piece of fried cod, a tiny mound of olive paste, one stalk of asparagus cut into pieces, three or four sliced mushrooms, four flavorless gnocchi, and some broth. The $28 ?hand-rubbed? salmon entree special my wife ordered was so salty she ate less than half of it. When the waitress finally came by to check on us, she asked if she wanted it wrapped up to take home. No, it was too salty, my wife said. I?m sorry, droned the waitress. Go only if you enjoy throwing away your money! Totally agree with other reviewers that there is a distinct lack of care that permeates this restaurant.

TERRA LUNA's Pagan Grace – I have been heading to TERRA LUNA for years. I'm not sure if the last reveiwer has ever been there. The menu has changed throughout the seasons. But, also has managed to keep the old favorites, as well. Does the last reviewer live here on Cape Cod? Or elsewhere? A summer dink, perhaps? I have worked in several seasonal kitchens over the years. Any idea how the tourists complain when their favorite dish has been removed, the one that they always get and dream about ALL winter when they think of the big summer vacation. You can not easily mess with peoples traditions. That said, TERRA LUNA has found the best of both worlds. The menu changes slightly with each coming summer. If you want difference, the specials. I have had some of the BEST fish dished here. I read a review in a Cape rag that called TERRA LUNA more Pagan than Meditterean. I liked that. The Striped Bass specials during the commercial season ARE exquisite with layers of flavor that just keep happening. The Lobster Oregonata is amazing in it's simplicity and intense fresh flavor. The Codfish dish on the menu is delicious, the mushroom and asparugus and gnocchi all blend harmoniously, and enhanced by the black olive tapendade and drizzle of rosemary oil. The light summery taste of the Romeo's Angel is a vegetarian's delight, artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes, raisins and pinenuts tossed with fresh basil and mint and extra-virgin olive oil over angel hair pasta. the grilled duck has a cumin spiced rub and an amazing pomegranite molasses reduction. The sides are always inventive and delicious, be it the simplicity of haricot verts tossed with garlic oil or roasted garlic mashed potato cakes.The wine list is approachable and the special cocktails are great, try the Joyride or the Peeling Left. The Desserts are from Heaven, the Polenta Blackberry Custard is inspired. The last reviewer is a sorely mistaken and a complete fool. TERRA LUNA should be on your list of must dining.

Sad Example of what a Mediterranean menu is on Cape Cod – First of all,

If you are going to proclaim your restaurant as being Mediterranean, your menu should exemplify more of a free-form, "whatever-happens-to-be-fresh", sort of attitude, as opposed to what we have as the "written-in-stone" menu of Terra Luna that has remained unchanged for well over a decade.

Sure, Terra Luna was a pretty good restaurant in the 90's, featuring some Italian dishes that had been de-constructed to appeal to a Cape Cod palate, but it became painfully obvious to anyone who was paying attention, that it was more of a business venture than a labor of love...

There is a distinct lack of care that permeates this restaurant. Perhaps it is time for them to either find a new direction or to call it quits entirely.....

great ambiance – Terra Luna's ambiance is outstanding as it evokes a rustic, colonial inn with exposed wood beams, and table candles providing much of the dining rooms light. Walls are adorned with artwork, presumably from local artists. The atmosphere is moderately loud and jovial. Dinner began with complementary bread and olive oil which was infused with sage to make it interesting and scrumptious. Our appetizer--cheesy artichoke dip with bread chips--was rich and hearty. The lobster with red sauce over angel hair was so splendid that I returned a perfectly clean plate. The wait staff accommodated our five-difficult-to-please children by adapting the menu to each child's whim. Terra Luna was pricey, but easily the dining experience of our week-long stay on the Cape.
