good atmosphere, OK food – I have eaten there a few times, both outside and in the dining room. Although I enjoyed the outdoor environment, I have never thought the food was worth the price. I think there are several high end restaurants that are a much better value.

A Great Dinner to Remember – Since I am a chef, my Wife wanted to treat me to a dinner where I did not have to cook for a change.

My Wife selected the Oregon Grille since we were there with close friends three months prior and enjoyed the meal.

I will comment only on what I had ordered for myself, and only say that my Wife told me her meal was outstanding as well.

I started off with the Duck Spring Rolls w/ the orange jalapeno sauce. The spring rolls were excellent, the duck was cooked to perfection, the chef has duck down pat here. While this was an excellent appetizer, personally I would have liked to have some bite or hot in the orange jalapeno sauce, but that is me. It was excellent and I highly recommend this dish.

For my salad, I stayed with the same salad that I had previously, the Grille Salad. This consisted of grilled romaine hearts, roquefort cheese, walnuts, dried cranberries, and a sweet raspberry vinaigrette. An excellent salad and nice size portions. I would have placed a couple wedges of tomato around the plate but that certainly did not distract from the salad at all, another dish that I recommend.

For my Entree, I went with one of the evening specials, the Beef Wellington. I will say this here and now, and I speak from experience, a really good Beef Wellington is rare. Many restaurants today just shove a tenderloin in a puff pastry and bake for a specified time. The pastry part of the Wellington usually comes out thick and doughy, or dry and lame. That is to say nothing of how the beef usually comes out, many times tough, and the cuts of meat are usually not the best.

Now the Beef Wellington that I was served here was by far the best I have had since 2001 in London. The pastry was not thick like most, but thin and crisp, I was not overpowered by the taste of the pastry. This allowed the full flavor of the beef to come through.

The beef was tender and could be cut with a fork, not fatty at all, and the flavor was just right. By far one of The Best Beef Wellingtons I have ever eaten.

We did not get desert, we were full which brings me to another comment. Today far too many restaurants give small portions to force you into a desert and additional cost. The serving sizes on my meal and my Wife's was perfect, the fact that neither of us were still wanting more at the end shows that the Oregon Grille is not a pushy desert style restaurant.

Overall, I give the Oregon Grille 5 Stars, and their chef did an outstanding job with the Wellington, I even asked my server to convey my appreciation to him for me.

As a chef, I am picky about what I eat, and where. I do not mind paying more if the quality is there. I highly recommend The Oregon Grille. That is my personal and professional opinion.

All the Best

Food just OK better values elsewhere – I don't judge any establishment by just one or two visits but always give any dining venue the benefit of the doubt. My multiple visits at the Oregon Grille were the similar. Overpriced for the quality, I've had better dining experiences at not so notable establishments. Meat dishes were cold and tough not using the best cuts, vegetables were not seasoned to the best of the chefs ability. Usual rrun of the mill selection with poor delivery.

Not What It Used To Be – We took our family for my special birthday. We had a wonderful time being with our children, but it stopped there.

First, when we went in to tell the matre de we were here and were ready to be seated outside, he went first and practically closed the door in my face, instead of holding it for all.

Second, the minute we sat down, the waiter handed my husband the wine list and proceeded to immediatley tell us about the special. We would have rather, had our drinks, had a little conversation then delve into what we were eating.

Third, I had the grouper which was dry as a bone and looked unappetizing. I didn't send it back which i should have, but don't really like doing it, my mistake.

My daughter had the Shrimp something with Cognac sauce, and it reeked of the cognac that she ate one shrimp and left the rest.

Oh also before we ordered, after telling us the specials as soon as we sat down, he came back, they were out of the salad special. Meanwhile it was 7:30pm, and empty outside. Then a second time, came back and they were out of the prime rib. We must of had shocked faces, because he preceded to tell us, they only order 12 servings, and they had 200 reservations, which we found hard to believe.

Mediocre Food for the Price – We've been to the Oregon Grille twice now in the past year - both times were disappointing. It's a lovely setting but the food is mediocre. The prices are similar (expensive) to Charleston's and Charleston's has much much much better food. The staff are pleasant but sometimes a wee bit pretentious for what they're offering. The baked potato had a metallic taste and I had to cut away half the ribeye steak because it was tough and fatty (unlike marbled which I expected). This place needs a new chef to warrant the prices they charge. My husband's beef tenderloin was perfect........that's all he needs to be happy.

Great value – I loved the quiet and cozy but elegant feel of the place. It's one of those okay on the outside but jewel on the inside restaurants. I had a salmon dish and it was delightful; everyone enjoyed their food. A little pricey, but totally worth it.

The extensive, expensive wine list complements everything from the caviar to the prime rib. – The Scene
Even with herbs growing out front and horse bridles and jockey prints decorating the walls, there's nothing rustic or casual about this fine-dining destination, located in a part of Baltimore County known for horse ownership. Well-dressed patrons dine while enjoying golden-oldies piano playing in the elegant, romantic dining room.

The Food
Meat, seafood and salads are the staples in this kitchen. Flavorful steaks, lamb and veal are all cooked to order. Among the restaurant's signature seafood and salad entrees, lemon butter and chives enhance the seafaring sweetness of grilled oysters, and tart apples and hearts of palm spruce up mixed greens. Wines are sold by the glass or the bottle. The selection is enormous and ranges in price from $28 to $320, with even fancier wines available upon request.

Awesome! – This has been my best restaurant experience ever. It's a little expensive, but money was made to spend. This is one of the best restaurants in Maryland, period! Men, remember to wear a sportsjacket for dinner (required)
