SIMPLY DELICIOUS – I am an ardent lover of dining out with family / freinds and Mirhci Wok and Mangro Grove combination tops my list. Their Chef and owner Rohit Chawla has done an exceptional job in ensuring the best INdian food in the tristate area over the years. The concept they offer with pure vegatarian cuisine / Vegan and healthy menus in addition to Specialty South Indian , Indo Chinese and North Indian selections is just amazing.

While Mango Grove excells with their Huge Dosas ( My 3 foot Paper MAsala Dosa literally took up the whole side of the table) and specials like Jackfruit Curry, Manglorian eggplant & Paneer Tikka Masala, in the other section at Mirchi Wok Items like Chicken 65 , Handi lamb biryani, Nalli NIhari Goat etc are truly an artist's creations. I wonder how one manages to get such a large repertoire of culinary expertise...hats off to this team.

With all the prices rising sky high this place still offers a great value with Lunch buffets at 8.95 and most entrees at 12.95..

I highly reccomend this place to all who value good things in life.

Rohit Chawla posts review Himself for his Restaurants – I am dead sure this review is posted by Rohit Chawla himself or by someone from his family.

No one in this World gets floored by a restaurant as this guy Miles777.

He is raving the food as healthy. My foot!

And he is giving all details of his Menu. No customer remembers the Menu by heart as below.

Pros: Large Parking , family place, freindly servers, Lip smacking food.

Cons: Peak hour rush over weekends

Very poor quality, very high prices and very poor customer service – Hi,

I am a pure vegetarian from India ,and love eating vegetarian food,Mango grove is a disaster.Their prices are so high. You go to a restaurant and you don't find any Indians eating ,That should tell you something. They are truly cheating all the americans who come there to eat.

A dosai that has a bad sour taste costs 12.95.Chutney almost every time is spoiled. This review is not from one time eating, but from eating there multiple items and finding out that it is not gonna improve at all.

If you want good food go to house of india or drive to woodlands in langley blvd.

AWESOME... – Once upon a time..I fell in love with Indian food while I was visiting Delhi( yuummmmm). Many years later I am still going strong on the curry culture

MANGO GROVE and the sibling MIRCHI WOK next door have topped my favorite list ever since my first visit.

Yes folks it was love at first bite. You must try their Nargissi Aloo & Jackfruit.. The Paper Dosa is the biggest edible thing I have ever seen. My best pick though is The Mango's Eggplant curry.

Everything tastes so great and fresh. No surprise AOL members voted it the "Best Healthy Dining" and I see the restaurant featured in the best of categories each year.Food critics have raved about both these retsaurants( thats how I found it too). No other Indian restaurant comes even closer to these guys.

See I am more of a true food lover than just going to a place which gives you a lot of fancy service but nothing more. Service here is functional, efficient & courteous. All my friends have thanked me for reccomending Mango Grove and Mirchi Wok..

I believe They are both owned by the same Chef which explains the great flavors I experience.

If you are in a rush then go for the Lunch buffet( excellent value for the tasty spread). Dinners, like all good restaurants who make fresh food to your specific order, need atleast 10 - 15 mintues. And when they are busy packed( which they are very often, I notice) it can take longer. But who said Rome was build in a day.Now I too get a bit edgy when things are delayed, but my better sense tells me its a price I pay for going to places which are so popular( and for good reasons )

For me a little time and patience ensures the fact that I am getting freshly made food..no compromises there!!!!

Outstanding Indian Resturant – We have been dining at mango grove for last 5 yrs. And We have always had great experience with their authentic and delicious food coupled with outstanding and friendly service.

I was witness to the whole event and the person who has written the previous review should be banned from all public places. The prices for mango grove are mentioned at their entrance, too bad this lady cannot read.

This person was actually asked to leave the resturant by all other customers including myself, due her vulgar and abusive language towards the servers in front of all of our kids.

It is evident from her comments she was using profanity while the manager was still smiling courteously. And we were happy that these unrluly lady was thrown out by the cops.

We love mango grove and we will keep visiting them for their great food and service.

Horrible Service – Horrible service.

We catered for a party and they called police on us because we had 5 guest extra. They have no moral value, no ethics. Not recommended. This is a warning to people who order from them. They also lied to us catering for for less people than we actually ordered. Basically food was not enough Thank God we have other choices of Indian cuisine. They have lost my business forever.

Terrible Takeout Service – I stopped going here about a year ago because I got tired of waiting over an hour extra every time I made an order for takeout.

I was right to stop, when I went to Mango Grove today, I found that they had "lost my order". I did not get my food until about two hours after I made my initial order. I did not see anything for all of the time they wasted, just a rough apology. They almost forgot my nan bread, but I caught it as I walked out the door. Customers just don't matter here unless they're leaving a tip!!!! Even then, the service is terribly slow.

Prices, as always, are about 30% more than the other Columbia Indian places.

Watch your prices! otherwise good food. – My wife and adult children had dinner last Sunday nite. This was our 5th or 6th visit and it was all pleasant until I got my bill and found that the charge for 2 bottles of wine was $4/bottle higher than listed on the wine list. When I questioned the charge, the owner brought me a wine list with higher prices and said that prices were change a year ago. I said that it wasn't the same list that I ordered from and that there must be an oid list around. The owner accused me of calling him a liar and left in a huff. I paid my bill of $178 for 5 people and left . I was looking for Mango Grove to honor the price that I had seen but it was not to be. The food was great and the attitude of the owner was that he didn't care about our concern.

A call to the restaurant a few days telling them about our experience and explaining that Mango Grove needs to do a better job managing their price lists, the manager , agreed to refund $8 on our next visit. It will be awhile before I ever return but they can be assured that I have purchased my last bottle of wine with dinner at Mango Grove.

Columbia's best vegetarian restaurant. – I've been going to Mango Grove for years. As a vegan, they are one of the only restaurants in the Columbia area where I can consistantly find good food. The food is excellently spiced, and never leaves me with a heavy feeling, evenwhen I've had a large portion. The management is friendly, and they seem to sincerely believe in the quality of their food. I especially recommend the Dal Curry, Channa Masala, Masala Dosai, and the Vegetable Biryani.

Great Service, Great Indian Food – I think some of the negative reviews are the same person posting over and over.

I have eaten lots of Indian food-- vegetarian and not. The food at Mango Grove is quite tasty, and that they certainly make the best dosa. Not all Indian places have dosa-- which are big crepes that can be stuffed with potatos (and can be vegan or not). If you live in Baltimore & want dosa, you have to drive down to Columbia to Mango Grove.

Their curries are good too-- the prices and portions are absolutely reasonable. You don't get gallons like you might if Olive Garden served curry, but you get enough that, with rice & appetizer, you would have some to share with you dining companions or take some home.

I find the service very friendly and accomodating. Some times they do get busy-- and they could be busy fufilling a catering or carryout order even if the restaurant is not packed--& the service slows down. Never been a problem for us though. If you want "fast food" all the usual suspects (McDonalds, etc) are near by.

Sometimes they do special events, like for Valentines Day, or when particular musicians are in town when they have a special menu and there is live music. This is fun and generally they let you order off the regular menu if there is something you prefer.

I find the lunch buffet to be a particularly good introduction to Indian food for people who don't eat it regularly because you can take little bits of everything and figure out what you like. I have been there when they even had mini dosa on the lunch buffet, but I'm not sure if they do that every time.

Don't let a couple demanding people with strange expectations scare you away. There is a reason that this place gets written up all the time in the Best of Columbia and Best of Baltimore and that people all over the country have heard of it.

Also--they opened a sister restaurant next door where you can get Mango Grove food brought over if there are people in your party that demand meat.
