I like this gym ! it has knowledgeable trainers there and the staff is cool , and the owner is a cool guy also. Good luck to my man Ty on Oct 19 ! Handle your business bro !
I’ve been a member of this gym for several months with no issues until there was a simple billing issue (i.e., change of credit card) that quickly turned into an unpleasant and borderline violent exchange with the gym’s manager, Ty.
The underlying issue wasn’t really a problem; it was how Ty (mis)handled it. I explained to him the problems I had in resolving the issue with his staff. He was visibly annoyed with me but offered to resolve the issue in a passive aggressive tone.
His attitude didn’t bother me but then he extended his hand for a handshake to conclude our discussion. After I attempted to disengage from his testosterone-induced handshake, his passive aggression upgraded to aggressive aggression as he squeezed down harder on my hand, pulled me closer to him and demanded my name in an authoritative manner.
His alpha body language suggested he wasn’t going to end his hand-mangling until I complied with his demand; conduct that amounted to battery. I was taken aback by the whole exchange, which seemed more like an interaction with a bouncer or law enforcement authority than with a customer service representative.
Perhaps Gold’s Gym should hire staff that is more experienced using their “think” meat instead of their other muscles… or at least cut back on the ‘roids.
Best Gym in Owings Mills – I have been to several gyms in Owings Mills and decided to join Golds. They are making so many improvements to the gym! The locker rooms are clean and new and the theatre room is perfect. I hate doing cardio, but the theatre room allows me to take my mind of off what I am doing while watching a movie. Golds Gym is the way to go, if you want a friendly, clean environment to excercise and get results.
Despite its Hollywood connections, this franchise's focus is on pumping iron, not newfangled razzle-dazzle. – In Short
The Terminator and the Incredible Hulk (aka Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno) lifted weights at the gym's Venice, California, flagship years ago, but even today, customers frequenting charter locations are bound to encounter serious muscle. Take note: The boys with bulging biceps are the mascots, not the majority. Gold's generally offers Spinning, aerobics and kickboxing classes, yet weight-training remains the core of the program. Dumbbells and barbells, not spa-like amenities, are the attractions that draw the beef-heads in droves.
