A must for a romantic night out!. I choose this restuarant by finding it in an Hour magazine. I didn't have much to go off of other than a great describtion in the magazine and a few great reviews online. It ending up being the perfect choice for a surprise restuarant for my boyfriend! From the moment we walked in and were greated by the hostess to the time we signed our bill it was excellent. My favorite thing about it was the food and great menu choices. I can't wait to go back again!

Upscale Mediterranean Delights. This is a happening place in Birmingham right now, and with good reason. The food is really terrific, and the atmosphere is great for a date or a night out with friends. Excellent (though expensive) wine selection, great traditional middle eastern dishes, and awesome cilentro shrimp (that's cilentro, not cilantro). I would advise against the artichoke heart appetizer. It was really flavorless, having no body or life, and the only dish I've had here that I didn't enjoy. Other than that, I've never tasted anything less than stellar here.

make sure to try the ribs. I have been dineing now at the Phoenicia for over twenty years and i have yet to find a restaurant that can offer its compfort, hospitality and quality in the area.
