Robbie Collis is amazing – If you are looking for a clean, sleek, edgy, or trendy haircut Red the salon is the place to go. Every stylist is great, But Robbie Collis far exceeds any stylist i have ever been to (and he is gorgeous!). Go see Robbie Collis for the worlds best cut color, or style!!!
love it! – this salon is absolutely amazing. it give you great cuts. its great! i'd recommend using hollie. she is so sweet and gives awesome cuts/styles! just tell her what you want, and she'll give it to youl
So disappointed – After specifically requesting a cut that would take less time and be easier to manage, I got just the opposite. This stylist came highly recommended and I was so disappointed. I would NEVER go back
Jaclyn is the best – Jaclyn is a fantastic stylist. She takes the time needed to do a great job. The salon is loud and not relaxing, but Jaclyn is so good that I can look past the noise level.
Great salon experience – Having just moved to the area, I was struggling to find a new salon. Having read the reviews here, I called up Red and asked for an appointment for a cut and highlight... The receptionist was very helpful, even asking me about my hair type, and was able to get me an appointment at the exact day and time I requested. I booked an apointment with Jaclyn, and she did an amazing job. Extremely good hair-cut, great highlights, and a very reasonable price in my opinion. It seemed that everyone in this salon was very well educated and knowledgeable, and used very up-to-date techniques. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone searching for a change! The atmosphere is young and fun, and not at all pretentious. I've found my new salon, and could not be happier.
mischiefmanaged – This place USED to be awesome...
Why was it so bad the second time around mischeif managed? You raved about he place, and the management - and all of a sudden you switched salons...mm what happened? I am a former client as well and I'm just curious! :) Where should I go now?
Paying it forward (see Jackie with the blonde hair) – I absolutely love this salon! I drive two and a half hours to see my styalist Jackie every couple of months. I recently recieved the brazilian treatment from Jackie and it changed my life! I recieve complements on it every where I go. I have always been aprehensive about getting my hair done and now I will never let anyone touch it besides Jackie (with the blond hair). I would recommend her to anyone that wants a professional experince with a styalist that will listen to what you want and help you to look your best. Overall this salon is all around wonderful!
Wouldn't recommend it – Do not go here unless you've got at least 3 hours to waste. They ALWAYS triple book people (at least). They're really big on suggesting hair "treatments" so you feel like there is a reason you are sitting with your head in a sink for an hour.
I've been there about three times. The first time I went, I was there for 4 hours for a cut and color. I was triple booked and had sit there with wet hair for an hour. The stylist did do a really great job, so I came back. After this last time, I will not go back. I was there again for four hours. The stylist left bleach in my hair too long because no one was around to wash it out (though they all had time to bicker about it), so now my hair is practically white. Then she was talking to one of her four other clients while trimming my hair and I've got random chunks in my hair.
They do have some really talented stylists, but to me it's not worth it.
Best in Metro Detroit Area – I asked the Manager at Red Salon, Ryan, who he recommended for very natural looking color, as well as someone who would take the time to create a style that matches my lifestyle, features, hair texture, etc. Ryan recommended Tisha, and it was an excellent match. I have slightly wavy hair that gets heavy/limp in spots and wants to grow into a pyramid, which makes my round face even rounder. Tisha recommended a heavily layered style that would enhance my natural curl and could be finger-styled or styled with a diffuser. I have never had such a flattering and easily styled/maintained style in my life. Where has Tisha been all my life! LOL. For the color she did a torteishelle (sp?) effect with colors that look very natural yet give a little lightness too. Tisha also works for Redken and travels to shows so it may take effort to get in with her, but you absolutely will not be disappointed. Special note: Ryan, the manager, will do his absolute best to get you in when you want to get in, and he is excellent for recommendations of a stylist that fits your style needs. He has never let me down yet. Tisha, Ryan, and the salon in general are all very highly recommended.
UPDATE: Went back for another cut with the same stylist and unfortunately received a very obviously uneven cut that I could do nothing with but wear a headband and wait to go somwhere else for a fix.
Best Salon in the Midwest! – I just moved to Michigan and found RED on city search. I had the best experience ever there! Everyone was on point about everything, and I felt very comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone, man or woman. And bring your dog! :)
