I love the East Detroit Bakery. I grew up in East Detroit but have been in Washington DC for the past 6 years. I am sure to stop in each time I visit home. I am commissioning them to make my wedding cake!

THIS IS THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!. FABULOUS BETTER THAN GREAT

Just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary - ordered the cake from East Detroit Bakery. OMG it was to die for - everyone took some home - we had to cut pieces in half so everyone could take it. If you have a celebration coming up do yourself a favor and order the sweets from them, they give you what you ask for and do it with the absolute best of everything. I could not have been happier!!! Dissapointed. Just wanted to say how incredibly disappointed I am in East Detroit Bakery.

My future husband and I grew up in Eastpointe, fell inlove in Eastpointe, graduated from East Detroit. We felt the important need to keep as much as the city a part of our wedding as we could.

Yesterday we started the journey for a wedding cake. Our first stop, East Detroit Bakery. My future husbands parents had a 25th anniversary party and they had gotten a cake from them back in Feb of 2010. For a VERY reasonable price.

We walked in, was told to have a seat, and was greeted by a women who cared more about the guy sitting next to us sipping on a coffee, then possible clients. Being first time "Cake buyers" we had no idea what questions to ask, or even where to begin. She wasn't very friendly or helpful in any of this. "Do you have a picture of what you want?" We show her, gets up, leaves come back with 2 pieces of cake, then comes back with a price of $599 for a cake!!!

I thought maybe it was a little ridiculous, considering it was buttercream, not very much detail and we weren't adding anything special. ALSO, considering that my future husbands mother payed only $225 dollars for a cake that fed 30 people less then ours.

So we packed up, left and went to 2 other bakery shops who then, quoted us, for the exact same cake, over $250 less then what East Detroit Bakery did.

I about had it with people over charging "young couples" who are having a wedding.

I probably won't ever step foot in there again.

Yummmmmmy bumpy cake cupcakes. They have the best bumpy cale cupcakes I have ever tasted, huuuuuuuge bump isnt too rich. Gottatry one!

Best cake in the metro Detroit area. Best buttercream frosting anywhere. I never buy cakes anywhere else. The best service hands down! They will do anything on a cake you ask
