Terific Variety.
Love that restuarant! Food is creative and adventursome- great flavor matching and creatively served- competitive pricing and friendly and knowledgable wait staff. Crab Cake Benedict and Corn Geef Hash are real winners, as are the theme salads.
Breakfasts are winners too- sometines there's a line but it seems to move well,
Terrible dining experience. Rude service, awful food, and way too expensive. I've paid more for dining but never with such low quality. I drive by this place on my way home. Next time, I will just keep on driving.
Epitome of great neighborhood dining without the HUGE price!.
This place has a great selection of great dishes, and decorated perfectly on your plate. I have only had one bad dish and that was the coffee crusted steak and it was just too salty, which I don't believe it was meant to be served that salty. The ambiance is cute and cozy and most times just a bit to small, since most of the times you have to wait for a table. On the weekends, the place always seems full to capacity. I guess to recession-proof the place, the owner refuses to expand. Most times I just wait patiently in the way-to-small lobby or if Bed, Bath and Beyond is open, go shopping until my table is ready.
I have had the lobster omelet, pancakes with the delicious and perfectly spiced chicken artichoke sausage, veal meatloaf, coffee crusted steak, perfected crab cakes (not overly done with sauces and spices), black bean chili, different salads (even though the dressing don't really fascinate my taste buds), grilled chicken dishes - everything has been good except for that salty steak.
great food. GREAT FOOD , GREAT SERVICE best pancakes for breakfast and for lunch the crab cake sandwich excellent.
Fabulous Food, Wonderful Service, but Hostile Hostesses?.
Wonderful entrees. Staff is excellent. They are always very accomodating and will always fulfill any needs you may have. I completely disagree with the review that said that food was always the same. It is always the same if you mean unique and delicious. The bartenders are always thorough and make up excellent cocktails.
Only downfall is of course the long lines. BHG should make sure that the hostesses are prepared and trained better. Often times I have recently found the hostesses to be the most unfriendly and least pleasant aspect of the entire dining experience.
Just more of the same....
The food was good but not excellent. Tired menu; same offerings year after year. Yes, stay with what is "tried and true" but also venture a bit.
Staff is patronizing and smug; manager disengaged and distant; does not step in to pitch in when surely he should. A lot of sitting around and gossiping going on among the staff while diners wait.
A patron should not feel like an interruption to the 'staff' sitting around gossiping, when he/she needs something.
Would never recommend this to anyone and do not plan to return after three consecutive visits on my part and finding no improvement, after each visit. Don't know what I was waiting for, should have stopped after first visit!
Had actually planned to have a lunch there in the next week or so [a Spring lunch!] for twelve friends and decided against that being the venue, due to my experience on my most recent visit.
Just rude.
The decor may not scream 90210, but the food is purely first-class fare from morning till night..
In Short
It has minimal decor, lines, and a shout-to-hear noise level, but Beverly Hills Grill packs 'em in every day. A rare high-quality restaurant that opens not only for lunch, but at 7am for breakfast. Making a choice is the hardest part; pork chop with brandy cider sauce, crab cake benedict, while weekend brunches showcase breakfast breads and muffins and made-to-order salmon hash and bananas foster French toast. There's also frittatas, scrambles and omelets.
Little Gem shines brightly. This tucked-away epicurean delight is simply outstanding. The prices are very reasonable for a wide range of gourmet fare, which is never pretentious and never dissapoints. A reasonable and interesting wine list, superb coffee, and attentive service make for terrific dining anytime.
No Whining... but Great WIne!. What a great spot to both feast on great food fare, but run in to lots of acquaintences as well. A person of insight will know that the reason you can't eat here in anonymity is because every one else knows that the Grill indulges the palate with marvelous culinary creations ... and a very amply wine selection.
I'm hooked.... I dont know what I like better the crowd, the incredible staff, or the beautiful and tasty food. If you make it to Detroit, check out this hot spot. Everyone that I bring from out of town simply must have a pack of matches to remember the experience. If you go for breakfast, enjoy a Mimosa and the Banana Fosters French Toast. For lunch, the salads are always fresh with incredible dressings. You have to try one of these burgers. Dinner is elegantly understated. The meats are always prepared perfectly to order and the sides are as unique as they are delicious. Save room for desert because they are killer. You can get good food anywhere, but Beverly Hills Grill has just the right twist of service and style. Kudos to who ever creates the specials of the day. Thank you for creating a Sunday Oasis for me in Detroit.
