Not interested in doing.
Not interested in doing business:
Arrived at 1 (advertised as brunch open 10-2) on a Sunday with family of 5 after researching on internet and looking forward to dining. told no food left at buffet, would not serve breakfast, could only order off dinner menu. Made to feel we were an inconvenience, and certainly did not appear to be interested in our business. As a result, never eaten there, never will.

Staeks, Fish and those yummy Au Gratin Potatoes.
First off, the owners are the same ones that owned the old Rivera's restaurant that use to be on the N/W corner of 10 mile and Gratiot. Those in the know will remember that they had the best fish and chips on the eastside and every Friday people were lined up outside the door to get some. Well, the current place has the same recipe and that brought us to Louis' the first time. The fish and chips were excellent but not as good as I remember them from 10 and Gratiot...maybe because the pieces were smaller and more crispy back then.
I have eaten at fine steak houses like Chris Ruth's (very good), Don Shulas (yuck) and others in that class and IMHO I think Louis' is just as good if not better. I usually get the 16 ounce rib eye with zip sauce and I've never tasted any better. It has always been cooked to my liking (medium/medium well). The service has always been adequate to excellent
We ate there last night. It was our 5th time going there. I had the lemon rice soup which was better than any I ever eaten in Greek Town. And something I found out...all their salad dressing and desserts are made in house. They had a fish special last night, Mahi Mahi with a blueberry/raspberry sauce that, honestly, was one of the best fish dishes we've ever eaten....when in Florida we eat fish every day but none compared to what we had last night in Michigan...a grand slam home run. I also had the other special, a bone in "prime grade" filet mignon that was done perfectly (medium) and didn't need a knife to cut it. I usually get a baked potato but last night for some reason I ordered the Au Gratin potatoes....OH MY. I will never order another baked potato there again...believe me on this one folks. My better half is on one of those no potato/rice diets and follows it religiously and she ate half my order.
Bottom line, they've got some really good things going on there. And I can't wait to go back.

All Around, DELIGHTFUL!.
This bar is low lit peaceful atmosphere with the soft symphony of a stand up bass and piano playing softly in the rear. It couldn't be a more complementing setting to drinks which I was served. There were two bar tenders working whom I will never forget -Sarah and Kristen-. They were overly polite and experts at their trade. Sarah offered me the perfect Merlot for my filet as I am no wine expert. The music kept me there longer than planned as I polished off two of the best tasting martini's I have ever had which was served by Kristen (Egg Nog Martini and Espresso Martini). I greatly recommend this Chop House!!!!! It's a bit hard to find but do not let the strip mall fool you!

Great traditional chop house.
I reluctantly write this great review of Louis' Chop House out of fear that it will get too busy.
This is a great chop house with wonderful food. The steaks are always cooked correctly.
To me, Louis' is a traditional Chop House, a restaurant with great food, ambiance and service.
I love it.

Not Bad Of An Experience Considering It Was NYE.
I am very critical on restaurants as my brother is a manager at one.
My wife, I, and 4 1/2 month old went on 12/31/07 at 9:00 p.m..
They had a table ready for us immediately as all tables were by reservation only.
Our initial drinks took 15 minutes to get to us which is longer than normal.
We ordered a shrimp cocktail to start which was $14 and consisted of 4 jumbo shrimp with cocktail sauce. The sauce was excellent as it had horsey sauce at the bottom of the cocktail sauce.
For our main course, we ordered the 9 oz filet and the 22 oz T-Bone. They did not have their homemade mashed potatoes or rice pilaf for their sides? The wife was looking forward to the homemade potatoes and had to settle for baked potatoe. I ordered the au-gratin potatoes with a caesar salad with anchovies.
The price online for the T-Bone and Filet are $3 higher than their menu at the restaurant?
About 25 minutes later our meal came out without our salads? The server offered a complimentary desert in place of salads which the wife optioned for. I stuck with the salad since many restaurants do not carry anchovies.
The wife loved the filet as it was cooked perfect (medium). The T-Bone was tender as well. I wish I would have order the Porterhouse instead as the T-Bone had more bone than a T-Bone should have.
Overall, I would go back for another try at the Porterhouse.
I feel the server could have been a little more attentive to details when you spend a $100 for two people.

Exceptional.
My family and I have been dining at Louis' for a few years and at Mr. Paul's and Louis' by far has the better menu, steaks and Prime Rib while still being more resonably priced. I would deffinitly reccomend Louis' for all dinner occasions, and highly reccomend trying the Tiramisu for dessert. Just recently I returned to Louis' with a group of 15 for my mothers birthday. I figured for a special occasion why not take my mother to my favorite restaurant and the restaurant that was named the number 1 special occasion restaurant in Macomb County, but besides that service again was exceptional, dinner was excellant as always, and it was just an exceptional and joyful evening.
