Worst Restaurant Around – e just moved to Berkley Michigan and have been trying restaurants in the area. We tried The Vinsetta Grill and it was the worst restaurant we have been to since we moved to the area. The service is very slow and the waitress could not be bothered with getting our order right. When the food finally came the hot items were cold and the cold items were hot. My daughter ordered the burger and it was as cold as if it was sitting on the counter all day. I ordered the Sirloin rare and it came well done. all the side dishes were also cold. My wife ordered a refill on her coke and we got charged for another pop. $5.00 for 2 cokes is a little much. AVOID this restaurant if at all possible.
RIP OFF RIP OFF AND RIP OFF – I took a couple of friends here to get there Baby Back Ribs as I had been here several times before. My order came with green beans which tasted like DIRT. They were disgusting. I also had a couple of cocktails. Now with the the three meals I expected to have a bill come to me for around $55.00-$60.00. No I get a bill for $91.00. Two had Baby Back Ribs (half slab) and the other had there special of Chicken Breast. When I got the bill I was angry that they charged me $8.50 for each of the cocktails. The glass was smaller then a High Ball and was over filled with ice which means I only got half of the drink instead of a full shot in each one. I talked to the owner and he just shrugged it off that because I ordered premium booze instead of well that is why the charge was so high. I have been going to this establishment for over 10 years but this will be my last. The service was that of a person working at McDonald's and the owner has no concern but what he puts in his pockets from ripping customers off with his high prices. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless you bring your inheritance to pay for your bill.
Recently remodeled, Great Ribs, Great Service – I have been going to Vinsetta Grill long before the recent great newspaper articles that have been written and before their great remodel. It's always been great! The owners are always there and very hands on. The food is excellent and reasonably priced and the service is great! Try the ribs, and if you like hard to find beef ribs this is the place to go. The menu is primarily ribs and chicken reasonably priced around $13-$18 a meal. The burgers are great and the salads are HUGE! Another plus is that the entire restaurant is NON SMOKING including the bar! With all the recent press, the restaurant is usually busy, but the wait is rarely long. The owners take pride in serving good food and the waitstaff is great! It's nice to see the owners putting money back into the restaurant even in this economy. Highly Recommended!!
VERY OFFENSIVE FOOD, SERVICE, AND OWNER – 5 PROFESSIONAL WOMEN SET OUT TO HAVE AN ENJOYABLE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION. WE WERE SO EXCITED TO GO TO VINSETTA OUR REGULAR HANG OUT ESPECIALLY AFTER THE GREAT ARTICLE IN THE FREE PRESS. HOWEVER, AFTER WAITING 45 MINUTES FOR FOOD. WE WERE SERVED ICE COLD FOOD. NOT ONLY WAS THE MANAGER RUDE BUT THE OWNER WAS CONDENSENDING AND DISRESPECTFUL. HE TOLD US THAT HIS RESTAURANT IS NOT A MCDONALDS AND THAT A BURGER TAKES 15 MINUTES TO COOK...WHY DID IT TAKE 45? HE WAS SO RUDE THAT US 5 REGULARS WILL NEVER GO BACK TO VINSETTA. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
Neighborhood spot pricing itself out of the neighborhood – Casual restaurant with adequate, not outstanding service. Owners work behind the bar and rarely engage their customers even if you're a regular and they recognize you. A bit on the pricey side for casual dining and recently hiked most of the prices even more to pay for their new outside dining area (volunteered by one of their ever changing wait staff). A side Caesar sald that used to be $2.99 was recently increased to over $5.00...Soft drinks are now $2.00 and they fill the glass with so much ice, you probably only get 2-3 oz of liquid anyway. Just sort of nickel and dime their customers. Used to be very busy but new pricing seems to be thinning out their crowds.
Great local place with good ribs. Non Smoking! – Non Smoking restaurant! One of the few places where I've found roasted beef ribs. You can get 3, 4 or 5 ribs. I've had them on 2 occasions--great beefy taste. So I've returned to try their pork ribs--and each time, they've been good too. Fries are hot, sweet potato fries are tasty, and even the coleslaw is good--not over mayonaised. I frequently eat in the bar area (nice not to have the smoke)--service is good; they're busy. Good selection of beers (Guinness on tap, Becks Dark)--make a good drink. Wine list is ok, not great...but I've found some good bottles.
This is not a "fine dining" place, but it is a place that is very comfortable with well prepared food. Ribs, prime rib, fries, burgers (not as good as Red Coat, but still good.) Lots of fried food, so not really a place I'd go every week, but if I want a good plate of beef ribs, I now have a place. Great prices and good service. Hmm, maybe I shouldn't let people know about this place, I won't get a table!
Bad food and bad service – I went to Vinsetta tonight with my hubby and 2 kids after a day of xmas shopping. I've always just had a burger before and it was decent enough combined with good location and low crowds. So, we decided to stop in tonight because it on our way home. The server told us he would bring us some bread. Finally, the kids food came out and my husband asked the server if he could still get us the bread. The server acted like this was some extra special favor he could do for us when clearly it came with every entree. Anyway, I'm trying to be a little more health conscious so I ordered the fish special. When it comes it tastes like something out of the frozen food section at Costco put in the microwave with a crappy sauce on top that I was not told about beforehand. The server does zip past to ask how the food is but I am busy with restless preschoolers, eating my baked potato, and picking around the edges of one of the pieces of fish because as I said I was very hungry so I just quickly say "good". Later when he brings the bill and I tell him that my fish was really bad he says I should have said something earlier and he could have "done something about it". So, I ask for the manager. The proprietor comes over and after I explain the situation to him he tells me that he won't do anything because I topld the server the food was good and I ate some of the fish basically calling me a liar. I told him that I had picked around the edges because I was hungry and didn't feel like waiting for something else to be made but that it really had not been good at all. The owner was too stupid to realize that I didn't even go into the conversation wanting the fish comped. He could have just taken off 10-15% and I would have returned for the occasional okay burger on the way home some nights. Now he has lost my business for good and I will continue to spread the word about the bad food and worse service.
