Horrible! – I wish I had something good to say about the food. We ordered pork lo mein, kung pao chicken and egg rolls. It was all terrible. It was so bad we ended up tossing the food out. A waste of our money.

Happy New Year! – Just needed to add this comment. for 2009 Since I'm still going there to eat. Ambience is good, service is good, and definitely the food is good.

Dark ambience to hide the 6-legged pests – Recently had lunch here and was aghast to see a small insect crawling on the table next to us. I called over a waitress who merely glared at me with an annoyed look and huffed as she took a linen napkin and brushed the 6-legged creature off the table as if it were some lint. At that point, my friend and I left the establishment before the food ever arrived. I then filed a complaint with the Oakland County Hlth. Dept.

Best "House" birthday party banquet – Straight off the highway from Minnesota, on 12/26, we ordered "take out" food for 16 to take to family for a post Christmas dinner. It was beautifully prepared, packaged and very much enjoyed by all our family who raved about the quality of the food.

This past week, back home in Minnesota, we learned that on 4/22/08, our relatives and friends gave a super surprise birthday party for an adult nephew at a banquet for 10 planned with Cecelia's (co owner) assistance. The food was excellent, graciously served and much appreciated by all. Hats off to Peking House!

Best Chinese in Royal Oak – We absolutely love Peking House. Try the steak and mushroom dish, it's absolutely wonderful! The specialties seem to be great choices. Highly recommend Peking House!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS NASTY PLACE!!! I'M SICK! GO TO YOUNGS INSTEAD!! – After reading so many wonderful reviews, this was the WORST Chinese food I've ever had. It tastes like cardboard. I feel like there's a brick sitting in my stomach after eating this garbage. I don't know if I'll ever be able to get that awful smell out of my car. After specifically asking if they had included sauce, I was disappointed to find that there was no sauce in the bag to cover the nasty taste. What kind a schezwan chicken is PINK? It was awful - wasn't even spicy!!! I fully expect to be sick tonight.

Great Chinese food, without the heavy feel. – Very good food, service. The chicken sizzling rice soup I crave in my sleep... Good menu options, nice ambience.

good for chinese – The service is eh, but There are certain dishes that are great. The chicken soong ( lettuce wraps) are great and so is the gold coin beef.

This venerable Chinese restaurant never fails to please the palate. – In Short
Situated in the heart of downtown Royal Oak, Peking House was a fixture long before a restaurant scene emerged. More tastefully decorated and contemporary than the average Chinese restaurant, Peking House has a sleek, modern feel that is as much an attraction to diners as its cuisine, which features classic Chinese, but with a freshness and lightness often missing from other restaurants.
