Tips for Madison Athletic Club

I joined the club because I love the classes and the friendly welcoming staff! Way better than a LA Fitness or PLanet Fitness! So worth the $29 for triple the amount of equipment and plenty of classes. I have been going to the MAC for about 6 months and can still honestly say that I love it and would recommend this club to anyone, but the one tip I can give you IS TO STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THE OLD BLONDE TRAINER AS POSSIBLE. SHE IS CRAZY AND RUDE!! Seems like she is only concerned with selling training and moving on to the next one!

other than that.. the other trainers are very helpful and have given me tips on building muscle and losing that extra 10 pounds!

Is this place under new management?. I've been a member at this club for about a year and a half. I didn't go for a couple of weeks, and when I went in the other night, the place was filthy - dirty locker room, gym equipment left my hands black, hand weights with one missing... They also replaced two of the machines I normally use with two older, more ackward machines, so that was not good.

A message to Madison - clean up your gym before people start to go elsewhere. Your prices are not cheap, and there is plenty of competition in the area!

Clean, friendy, nice equipment and facility. Free towels and locker with key every time you come. Hot tub and sauna are clean and unisex:) Locker rooms are very clean, roomy, with changing rooms.

Large variety of equipment and group classes to choose from.

I also like the personal trainers they are very helpful and do not push themselves on you.

Price is very reasonable and tanning available a cheap cost with nice stand up unit.

Definately recommend the MAC!!

A great place for anyone. I have never belonged to a gym before because I did not want to commit to the other gyms in the area. It didn't seem that any gym had what I was looking for, at a reasonable rate.

My boyfriend and I stumble across this place, and both really liked it. Since he if more into weights, he decided the price was a little high for what he needed and went to Fitness 19. After a couple of months there, he ended his contract and joined MAC. He realized that a few extra dollars was worth it knowing that he could walk into the gym, and do the workout he planned. At MAC he doesn't have to wait for equipment.

I enjoy taking classes, and MAC has several each day. MAC offers spinning, kickboxing, step, boot camp, extreme tread, total body conditioning, yoga, pilates, and more! The instructors are great, and I love going to get a great workout in 15-90 minutes, depending on the class.

I would recommend this gym to anyone, it's a fabulous place to work out!

No other place like MAC. Madison Athletic is the best fitness club in Michigan. I have been a member for 2 years and I keep going back for more. State of the Art facility, with exceptional Personal Trainers at your disposal. MAC offers spin, zumba, tae-combo, pace and pedal, step, cardio-sculpt, cardio fusion, pilates and so much more......they even have Boot Camp!

Whatever your needs are in fitness, MAC is the place to be.....I know I am 146lbs lighter in two years with the help of my Personal Trainer, Sgt Major - life at MAC never looked so good!

Small, friendly, great trainers, good value. From day 1, people knew my name, made a point to say hello when I saw them, complimented me on how often I've been working out and that it was paying off, and remembered things from conversations in the past and asked about them. It's a very friendly place; everyone from the desk staff, to the trainers, to the other customers. It's small enough that it's not overwhelming, but it also offers everything I need. The classes are great, and I really enjoy working with my trainer.

Great Place. I was a member here along time ago, then left to lifetime because I thought it would be nicer, with all it's bells and whistles, well I hated lifetime came back to madison. I like a place where the people are friendly and know me by name. they don't try to push their services on you. they have a very helpful and friendly staff. I don't feel like I'm just a number. that really sayes alot. They have a great play room for the kids and I feel really secure leaving my kids there. Keep up the great job!

Great Club !. I have been a member for several years. The club is clean, the equipment is new and the staff is always friendly. There are separate televisions on each treadmill, bike and elliptical machine. The trainers are always around and willing to help. MAC is a good alternative to a national chain club or a franchised gym. It is worth the drive because of the good atmosphere. I highly recommend joining.

Nice Club, Nice Staff, Reasonable Pricing. Don't know why the guy below hates MAC so much but I have been a member for a few years now with my wife.

I enjoy the facility alot. It's kept clean, not busy, and everyone is very nice. Also the pricing is low - we have a family membership lower then any other places we checked out before. My wife likes the classes - I have not done any yet - I just mostly do weights.

I like the Tvs on the cardio machines. It's nice because I can watch whatever I want instead of how those other gyms have 3 tvs on the wall that I have to tune to using a radio.

Check the club out and see for yourself. Everyone is nice, its a great club for the price.

BE WARE!!!!. I couldn't find minus star so I rated one star.

Here we go.

1..Be ware before you sign the contract, make sure you read everything, ask everything and have them write everything down coz when you try to get out of the contract when it's end. They will use those things to go against you. MAKE SURE you understand everything before you signed.

2. Do Not sign the CONTRACT!!

3. Go somewhere else, it's cheaper and better.

4. From amount of money they charge, mind as well go join Lifetime. Better facility and staff.

5. S**tty management. Keep in mind, once they got your money, they will try to push everything to be you fault.

6. If you still want to join them, good luck.

7. Do not even try to talk to the manager or staff, whatever it is..it's never be on your own benefits.

Again, be ware before you make the decision, look around in the area.. there are many fitness clubs that are cheaper and provide (better) or the same equipment and everything else.
