I totally agree with 2nd reviewer. This place serve worst Thai Food in Ann Arbor. I live and work in Ann Arbor and have tried most restaurants in Ann Arbor and loved most restaurants. This place merely an insult to all the other great Thai Cuisines.
Four of us visited this place one week ago and ordered 4 rice, 2 chicken curry and 1 tofu, and 1 beef something. In chicken curry chicken chewed like rubber, and tomato and bell peppers did not looked cooked. She gave us one rice bowl and it was microwaved, some rice felt cold and some are hot. And when we asked for the 2nd rice she said " no more rice" "i gave 4 rice". She refused to give rice and she told my other friend "you eat a lot". At the end we paid and did not leave a tip,and as we leave she says "U pay tip" and we laughed and gave her 5 bucks.
Next day, 2 of my friends who ate chicken curry did not come to work. I get to know that they were sick with. After a week I personally encouraged my friends to make a formal complaint to city of Ann Arbor. City did and this restaurant was checked and multiple recommendations were made regarding cleanliness, food safety. I really don't want to waste my time writing reviews, but this restaurant deserves this. This lady is just trying to sell overpriced dirty food and make a profit.
I highly advice you to not to eat here, if you do, get next day off + Pepsid
Great food for many years. Give it another chance. – I have been a patron of Siam Cuisine for the last 10 years. In fact, my picture is one of the many photos posted along the decorative walls among the many other frequenters. I have always received very tasty Thai food there. It has a quaint and casual atmosphere. There are several Thai restaurants in the surrounding Ann Arbor area, but I still claim that Siam Cuisine has the best pad thai noodle dish around. In the 10+ years I have been going there, I have received great service except for one time. It was a very busy Friday night. They have limited table space and a line was building up at the door. We brought another couple to dine there with us, their first time eating Thai food. We were not quite finished with our meal, but the waitress put her fingers down into the four of our water glasses and whisked them away, presuming we were done with our meal when we weren't. We didn't say anything since it was so embarassing. We just left. I don't think that waitress works there anymore. That was 6 years ago. Service has been just fine since then, although i have only visited during lunch (trying to avoid the evening crowd and potential water glass debacle again).
First time I've ever been SCREAMED at by restaurant staff – I can't believe staff so rude they actually started SCREAMING at us! My friend is allergic to mushrooms and was careful to select an item that (according to the menu) did not include them. When our food arrived, however, his had mushrooms. We explained this (nicely!) to our server. The server reported this to the cook, who shot out of the kitchen, literally screaming at us. She violently grabbed the plate away and began to shout at him, "YOU NO EAT! YOU NO EAT!" -- as in, they were going to refuse to serve him anything else. We tried to reassure them that we weren't being critical, it was just a matter of my friend's allergy. But they had stopped listening. It was so embarassing (for them too, if they had a clue) and I will never go back.
