Go for the hippie hash – not as many vegetables as I expected. The feta cheese was very interesting touch. I got the Meaty version which included corned beef. Not at all fatty. A real diner.

This Ann Arbor favorite dishes up greasy standards with a few surprises. – In Short
Locals of every breed mix at the Fleetwood Diner--an Ann Arbor mainstay located not too far from Main Street's fashionable restaurant chains. Silver aluminum siding, a simple awning and basic deck chair seating (in warmer months) make this curious spot hard to pass up. Inside, it's classic greasy spoon with the permanent odor of delicious fried food. Common diner options such as breakfast specials, sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads. Veggie options are also available.

As a Diner Should Be: grimy, friendly, and cheap! – The Fleetwood serves up diner food with a few Ann Arbor-inspired highlights, such as a melange of veggies and potatoes (affectionately named "Hippie Hash") along with other vegetarian options. Along with all-day (and night) breakfast, hamburgers and full sandwich menu are also available. There are only about 6 tables with some counter seating, and you shouldn't come with a big group because the tables stay where they are. The best aspect of Fleetwood is that it is very easy on the pocketbook (one of the cheapest meals around) and subsequently, they only take cash (presumably to avoid the credit card racket). Not for OCD clean freaks.
