Let Down. If you want a great Japanese Steakhouse and you can deal with the drive, Shoguns on 17 1/2 and Van Dike(i know this is misspelled but it filtered the streets name as unappropriate) beats this place out in almost everything from the Steakhouse part to the sushi

The steak is very unflavorable, They dont have any good spicy Mustard, but ones that you could get in a grocery store, and very overpriced because of the name. If you try Shoguns youll never go back to here

Knife-wielding chefs put on a show at this communal Japanese grill.. In Short
Benihana started out as a tiny four-table restaurant in New York City's theater district before becoming an international chain. Diners sit around large tables where chefs ostentatiously chop, slice, stir-fry and grill. Entree options are simple--shrimp, chicken, steak and scallops--and preparation is uniform. Every entree comes with a similar stock of sides: rice, onion soup, shrimp appetizer, iceberg lettuce drizzled with dressing, sauteed vegetables and green tea.

samurai steak. Benihana Japanese Steakhouse - I've attended a meals at this particular steak house even well before it was purchased by benihana (used to be kyoto). This place make a great change of pace outing for those searching for higher end dining. The menu of various steak, chicken, seafood, and sushi make for some tasty delights. The meals are prepared in front of you on a hibachi grill and the chef comes to your table. I like this restaurant in general, but i do feel that it's not what it used to be. Last few times here i have been disappointed by the chef's lack of skills (entertainment/tricks), the price is ever climbing, and the atmosphere has changed somewhat to a less mystical experience.
