Great place to dine!. I love this place! My family and I just booked our annual Thanksgiving dinner. They are so accomodating and we love them year-round, but especially at Thanksgiving. We have a larger group (about 20 people) and we never feel cramped. The menu choices are great because not everyone wants turkey dinner, so they have the entire menu available that day too. But...the turkey dinner is awesome! It comes with all the traditional sides and huge portions. And it's a great value...I think its only around $15 per person. We love the Moose! =)

My Favorite Part of Visiting Detroit. Don't write many of these, but whenever I come in town for business, this eatery is what makes me happy to step on the plane (not a knock on the city at all - just really like The Moose Preserve). Whether it's a quick lunch (just about any burger-type meal is great) or a full dinner (ahhhhh, shepherd's pie), The Moose Preserve and their staff are great. Don't just take my word for it though - go check it out. See you there.

Service and fun. The Moose Preserve has been a staple of my families diet for past 3 years. With a kitchen that closes late every night (11 Sunday-Tue 12 Wed and 1 Thur -Sat) it is a convenient family friendly place to have anything from Burgers, Mexican, steaks, wild game and of course world famous chocolate chip cookies. It is a place that is good for all occasions from Palace Events to a Holiday meal.

The bartenders always pour the best drinks, you never feel cheated when the bar tab gets a little high. It also has the best drink special in Bloomfield Hills with half off drafts on Thursday night.

With friendly staff I highly recommend the Moose Preserve

I'm Hooked on the Buffaloaf Melt.... Yeah, it's supposed to be healtier than beef... But that just makes you feel better about enjoying it so much! Great staff, always fun, The Moose Preserve is a great place to hang out. Lots of good stuff on the menu, but, of course, the Buffalo is recommended!!!

BEST COOKIES AROUND. I was back in town this weekend and stopped by The Moose Preserve, my old watering hole. This place is a staple, great food, friendly and fast service. Now that we have kids the fast is important. The kids spent time playing with wiki stix (a pretty cool alternative to the whole crayon thing) that entertained them so we could enjoy our meals.

We enjoyed our lunch on the outdoor patio that was not there 15 or so years ago. This is way cool and a must for outdoor dining. Hope you will enjoy the outdoor dining while it lasts and save room for the famous chocolate chip cookies, they are served hot which is the key to the best part about the cookies. I have now made my wife a Moose Preserve fan.

They forget the regulars. I used to be a regular eating there 2 to 3 times a week.

However about a year ago, we had a bad incident (ignored by the staff).

We decided to give it another try (could have been a bad day, everyone has them). I brought a few other people with me and we sat on the deck and service was horrible.

The final straw was earlier this year when I was charge well over 2x what the item cost on the menu. I didn't notice it till later that night. Three strikes and you are out.

Management was going to take care of the first two incidents with a gift certificate which I never received. I was informed management was going to take care of the blatant overcharge with a gift certificate too. I haven't seen that and it's been months.

The food is very good and that and the service had me as a regular for years. But, something must have changed there via ownership or cutbacks to cause it to go from a 5 star place to a 1 star. Sad.

Best lunch and after work hangout in oakland county. OK - It's been around for a while, but still haven't found any place as fun or consistent with food as The Moose Preserve. Try the ribs or buffalo... and end with the chocolate chip cookies (this is a staple with all my clients). You'll love the wait-staff, but come back for the bartenders. I'm not sure if they actually pay them better there, but they always attract young, fun people to work there (yes, guys too). Nothing snobby ever, and everytime we go the food is great and we're served in time to get to the game.

Oh yeah, lunches are now even better with wi-fi (couldn't logon first time without some help, but they were quick to solve the issue and no problems since - even on the deck).

Spend your monies elsewhere.. Stay in Birmingham or Royal Oak. Stay away from this place. This once old-faithful eatery has changed for the worse. Recent complete(?) turnover of staff and management can only mean one thing- New and not-so-friendly owners or some drastic and un-needed change in philosophy. It's apparent that the name, building decor and recipes remain. The food seems the same, however the staff seems over-worked and painfully under-trained(lack of simple menu knowledge, wine, desserts). I hope you have time to wait due to mysteriously long waits for tables, even worse on certain nights (concerts, high school events). Give it a try. You may like it. I'll spend my hard earned salary in Royal Oak, Birmingham or Rochester.

Go MSU!

Quality meals. Whether you want a simple hamburger or something more adventuresome, the Moose Preserve can please you with their food. I've had a number of things on their menu, from their club sandwich to their jerkchicken pasta special, and have never had a complaint. The service is decent, and the atmosphere is nice- very casual and friendly. One of the best restaurants of the area

The horns on the front door are a hint of the wild times ahead at this Bloomfield restaurant and bar.. In Short
From the log beam ceiling to the wild game menu, they make every meal an adventure. Think venison, rabbit, buffalo, quail and duck. The wild game has subtle flavors, so step out of your comfort zone and try some fish or fowl you're not used to. For those weak of heart, there is a nice selection of steaks, pastas and burgers. The Moose's happy hour rocks; large groups should send a scout ahead.
