Their dipped tacos are excellent, their margaritas are delicious and the service is 99% excellent.... Exception: when they're training someone new, I suspect they leave them on their own too soon. Also, I could do without the 2 singing guitar players they have once a week. But, the tacos make it worth any noise.
I went to Taco Loco tonight with my husband and my two kids. Our dinner and service was excellent as usual, the chips are the best and the salsa is to die for! And they have the best flan. But we have one complaint. There was a table next to us that had their order wrong. I guess the server brought the wrong plate to the table, which she took back and brought the right one back within no time. Several times the server checked on them, and they were asking for things for free because she brought the wrong food to the table. The next thing we hear is we need to talk to your manager. When the server went to get the manager, the were talking among themselves saying how they were going to get this and that. When the manager went to the table, they gave him some story let me tell you. The manager apologized and asked if he could buy them something I could not hear what, but they said no. Then he asked if he could do anything for them, they said no and that they were going to leave anyways. He apologized again and left the table. When the server brought them their bill, the put her in tears. They flagged down the manager again and asked him why didn't he take anything off their bill. He said that he thought that everything was taken care of when he left the table. They said he should of taken something off their bill and that the food was bad and the service was bad and they will never come back. Now mind you they were sitting in the middle of the restaurant and they were full at this time. These people were loud and getting louder. The manager asked them to pay their bill and please leave, which they did but not without a scene. They made sure the whom ever could hear them knew that they were unhappy. Now my problem is that I went there with my family, and my kids should not hear the things that they were saying. It is after all a family resturant. There were other families there with kids as well. I feel like the manager should of asked them to leave a lot sooner. Those people were acting like that over the wrong plate being served to them. We went there for dinner not a show. We all make mistakes, but we should not have to be subjected to that when we take our family out for a peaceful dinner. - Pam D.
Andy Baiz, manager of taco loco has had numerous relationships with employees, inculding ones under 18, keep in mind that he is 40. He has used his position of power to go after young girls, and not only try to have sexual relationships with them but also abused some. Eat here if you want, but leave your daughters at home.
I love Taco Loco, the food is great, and I have never been unhappy there.. My favorite place for nachos!!
my kids make more authentic meals than this place. I can't believe anyone actually likes this place. It's absolutely the furthest from authentic. The first time I went there I had a soggy taco, obviously canned refried beans and the rice is so dry and unappetizing that I was positive it was instant rice. Fortunately I did not pay for the meal since it left me before I left. I was coerced into going a second time and was not impressed with my burrito with not enough meat and cheese and too many beans. That dinner left me as soon as I got home. Unfortunately I had the misfortune of being talked into giving it another try. I ordered shrimp stuffed chile rellenos. What I received were two poblanos stuffed with frozen cocktail shrimp that was obviously not rinsed or cleaned. Between the saltiness of the shrimp and the sauce on top, this meal was unedible. It was sent back and I chose not to order anything else. This time I am also positive the rice is instant. Three strikes, you're out. Don't waste your time with this sub-authentic, overrated and cold restaurant.
Authentic and inexpensive!. Taco Loco is the best authentic mexican restaurant in the Detroit suburban area. They have a good variety and awesome margharita's and sangria. The service is good and relatively quick. I have never had a bad meal here and I go here quite often. Go here for a taste of homemade mexican food!
best margaritas and mexican food. This place is the best! It's not overpriced. Portions are not skimpy. In fact, they're huge! The food is delicious. It's not filled with unhealthy fats and so it leaves you satisfied in a healthy way. The fresh dipped flour tacos are fantastic. The atmosphere is authentic. Most of all, the margaritas are AWESOME!!!!! Just watch out, one of them could floor you. Not really, but they're super strong. Service is usually just ok. But the food is worth whatever service comes with it. Try it out, you won't regret it.
Sangria??? Oh Yes.
The best...I said the BEST Sangria you will find anywhere. The Enchiladas are perfect and the Chili Renos are very good. The food is freah and healthy. No lard in the refried beans. And if you want to stay low fat/cholesterol try their food fixed with the "fresh mix" which is basically steamed veggies inside of whatever you choose. And who ever heard of getting a bowl of delicious soup with your "mexican" meal.
Do you want steak or shrimp? No problem. How about some Mahi Mahi ? It's very good.
Try it...you'll love it.
Regular. A great neighborhoood place to get tacos. Try the fresh dipped carne asada mexican style. Yummy.
Taco Loco is delicous-o.
In a word: wonderful
The food is authentic, fresh and the owner is a great guy. Apparently he goes to Mexico every year to see whats cookin' and then we get to enjoy all the yummy dishes! A gem in Shelby Township!
