Love the Romaine Salad. Just took my Mom to Ellens for Sweetest Day lunch. Great food, great service...who cares if the coffee comes in a styrofoam cup - it's GOOD. I give Five Stars!

My Best Burger Ever!. I stopped at lunchtime for my first visit to Pastries by Ellen (right across the street from Computer Works of Sylvan Lake). I got Ellen's Classic Burger, and it was probably the best burger I've ever had. I also got a peanut butter cookie and a walnut brownie which were both very good. They were quite busy, so service was somewhat slow, but it was worth the wait. [Rule of thumb: if you want to avoid busy cafes, go to one where the food is bad.]

Always A Good Experience. I?ve been a regular at this restaurant for approximately (4) years. I have never been disappointed in Ellen?s food or service. Today, I brought along my co-worker and we both had my favorite, the Turkey Pita. As always, it was delightful! And the presentation of the sandwich was super.

I also, purchased some of the pastries, and they were as always, Excellent! Over the past four years, I?ve had nothing but wonderful entrees, soups and pastries from this restaurant. And I plan on coming back again & again.

How Wonderful!!. I was invited to go to lunch with a friend today and she took me to Pastries by Ellen, I had the turkey sandwich with basil mayo, cucumber, sprouts and all the other GREAT fixings. All I can say is THANK YOU ELLEN, it was wonderful!! I will be back again VERY soon!!

Pastries look way better than they taste!. We have had lunch 2 x. Today, I had the special that came w/guacamole. The guacamole was SO filled w/onions, that is was rendered inedible & I love onions. We also ordered their Bumpy Cake Cupcake which was horrid. The cream was hard as a rock and the chocolate topping was hard, chocolate shell instead of icing. We nearly shot it across the room trying to cut it. Last time, I ordered pie & it's time had obviously come & gone!

Our entree sandwiches were fine, but by no means exceptional. Also, I can't stand getting coffee in a styrofoam cup in a restaurant. We give a restaurant 2 chances, so this place is now 'OUT'!

Great Food. I have eaten here several times and it has always been great. The bread for the sandwiches is homemade and very fresh. I have also used them for catering a dinner party. The chicken was fabulous and very moist even though it was in a warming tray for an hour. We had a buttercream/carnel cake that was delicious and looked beautiful. Everyone at the party raved about the food. It was delivered and set up in beautiful chaffing dishes. George was very helpful in preparing the menu and even gave me some tips on the food that we were preparing. I got their name from someone who uses them all the time for catering corporate events and she couldn't say enough about both George and Ellen.

I would definitely recommed them for breakfast, lunch or any catering. Their pastries and bread are great.

pastries by ellen, avoid. bad service and food .. pastries by ellen- my wife and I just left there. the waitress did not listen to our orders! my wife ordered soup ,it was not hot. sent it back, when it was brought back another waitress noticed we had no crackers, crackers delivered. sandwich was ordered with egg whites and specified how to cook. no egg whites on sandwich only whole eggs. sent it back. my sandwich was ordered with the eggs done over medium. yoke squirted out all over, sandwich was tasteless, bacon was tasteless, egg was tasteless, homemade (?) bagle was tasteless. sent it back ,cancelled wifes remade sandwich and left! good soup, good home fries.

welcoming and fresh. Feels like everyones home away from home. Freshest food. Home made breads, pastries and unique soups. You feel welcome the minute you walk in; and feel like your leaving a freinds house when you walk out. The food is light and filling; whether it's a big breakfast of blueberry pancakes and fresh fruit syrup or a turkey avacado pita - it's always perfect; the portions are amble and the quality is unmatched.

Catering for a dinner party or pastries for a shower; Ellen's can prepare the pefect menu. It's worth the drive from anywhere.

Well Kept Secret...Not for long. Ellen's is the best find anyone could be lucky enough to make. The word devotee merely scratches the surface of what a person becomes after eating at the cafe. To truly benefit from all that Pastries By Ellen's has to offer you would need a whole day for breakfast, lunch, dessert, a catered event for dinner and any excuse to pick up or special order any baked good to take home. The staff is wonderful and service is exquisite. Ellen's has all the elegance of any 5 star restaurant with a charm and taste that keeps you coming back for more.
