Authentic Indian cuisine.
I was visiting my friends in Farmington Hills and one of them suggested to go for Brunch to Priya.I was pleasantly surprised when we turned into the parking lot.The building is statuesque with red brick & columns.Found the buffet selections very exciting. They had a huge variety of Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian items.Excellent Goat Meat Biryani and mouthwatering Butter Chicken. They had these Dosas (crepes) too which were awesome with coconut chutneys.Absolutely LOVED the soft serve Mango Ice Cream which you can dispense yourself from the machine !The wait staff was very courteous and accomodating. We went back again for dinner the next day and the atmosphere was even more relaxing then.Tried the Kebab platter and was pleasantly amazed at the variety of kebab meats in it.Also the Indo Chinese items were good. They even have a good bar area too.
Staying on the east coast I didnt find the prices to be expensive at all ! Maybe those who stay in Detroit and also commented that prices are expensive here dont know the true value of a gem like Priya and would rather substitute quality over quantity. If such a restaurant like Priya opened up where I live, would have gladly visited every week !!!
the worst indian food ever had in my life...!.
recently i visited priya ..heard from my a foolish friend that it serves good food...but when i went to priya it was all reversed.my exp goes like this
1) they keep you waiting for a long time(may be they think that they do not need anymore customers)
2)the waitors are arrogent, they do not pay attention(seems they own the place)
3)all the non veg items tastes one as the same(as they might be using same formula for all the meat)
4)THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT IS " UNCLEAMLINESS" (i would suggest somebody should give them ACADEMY AWARDS for it)
Never take a Carryout from Priya. The food in Priya tastes good but never take a carry out from there. The quantity is too less for the price you pay. You end up paying twice for the quantity that they give you and also they mess up the order. They are way too expensive compared to other Indian restaurants.
Best Lunch Buffet. Best Indian lunch buffet by far. Also, the best Palak Paneer I've ever had. Excellent food, cool place, overall a great dining experience.
Wide Variety and good service.
We tried Priya last night and it is a unique building. We believe its actually a converted funeral home.
We tried it based on the review below on how well the wait staff communicated with the customers about what they were ordering. The waiter was very helpful. Not just ours we looked around and each waiter was explaining different items on the menu in detail to other customers. That was a big plus for us.
We have Chicken Curry and Makhali Chicken. We both thought of the four Indian restaurants we had tried in the past two weeks this was the best all around. Our only issue was they only brought a single plate of rice instead of two which we did run short on.
We also ordered Garlic Naan which was so-so but still decent. The Naan not being as good was lost when mixed in with the sauce and chicken so you we never noticed it unless we had it plain.
The only thing missing is most places bring out some very flat, almost tortilla style bread with a mint and sweet dipping sauce. We had to request these and there was no flat bread to go with them.
Best of Indian food with Southern charm. Great building, I liked the entire set up. The crowd explains the food quality, apeared to be huge operation in heritage building, yet manger had eye on every table. no language barrier and amble of personal space. You are sure to have a good time
