Gotta love this place!!!. I've been coming here forever. There is nothing like a sack of their burgers and they have the best crispy crinkle fries around.

The staff is always friendly too!

40+ Years and still a loyal customer. Live in CA now but grew up in Livonia. Go there whenever I am in town. Have been going to Bate's since the 1960's. It is a burger place with atmosphere - and not that clown or king stuff. Definetly "50's roadside diner" but without the jukebox (there is no room!). Call ahead if you have a big order. Burgers are a little small, so anybody with an appetite better get two. Fries are decent and the shakes are excellent.

I Love Man-Burgers. For years my friends and I have had the chance to eat the great manly burgers of Bates and because of their manliness we have dubbed them "Man-Burgers"

i luve bates!!. Living in the MetroDetroit area for my entire lifespan, has given me a fairly good idea of which places can be considered note worthy. Bates is moe than a resturant, it's a city wide land mark. Located in the center of suburban, Livonia Michigan. Bates is the type of place where you can go and get a great burger & chocolate shake, and still enjoy the 50's diner atmosphere.

Just Bates. When I was living in Michigan, I loved to eat Bates Burgers. It was near my job at Rainbow Rentals and had great food and a great atmosphere. I do make it a point when I return home, I do go by there and eat. An United States Soldier.

Here's The Beef. A must stop for our entire family when visiting the in-laws in Livonia. We've tried the rest and found the "best" .... Bates are indeed the Best burgers around. From the West Coast to the Far East, no one makes better sliders than this place. If you haven't tried these yet, then you're missing out on the ultimate TBO (taste bud orgasm)!

No way. OK, these are classic sliders, I'll give you that. But to be mentioned on the best burgers list? Great if you're in a hurry after a night at the bar, but that's about it.

Bates is best. Bates Burgers are the best burgers in the world. I enjoy visiting and getting a bag full of burgers for my family when ever I visit my parents in Farmington Hills.

10. THE BEST! When I was little there was Powers Hamburgers on 7 mile and Evergreen, they are no longer there and we have discovered BATES! Brings back the good ol memories!
