There's no conflict between the four-star fare and the casual and comfortable setting..
In Short
Walls in vibrantly contrasting colors surround seating at wood-grain tables finished in high-gloss dark green. A mix-n-match approach defines the decor and it's not pretentious, given the ambitions of the from-scratch kitchen. The fresh American fare shows global influences, typified by a grilled salmon served with wasabi, Asian vegetables and kimchee. Pastry chef John Telfer turns out spectacular desserts, including a flourless chocolate ganache cake with raspberry sabayon and citrus souffle.

A Consistent Winner. Steve and Rocky's is a consistent standout on the Detroit restaurant scene. That says a lot. The menu manages to be both comforting and sophisticated. While your food will not exactly reach the heights of the best restaurants in the city you will come away having experienced a high-end meal at more modest (if ever so slightly) prices. The down-side of Steve and Rocky's? The clientele tends to skew toward seniors and groups of males in business suits so if it's hip and suave you want this won't fit the bill. The piano accompaniment to the meal can quickly become a bit too precious (think Bojangles and Piano Man as mainstays of the repertoire). Otherwise, good value and solid, often creative food preparation.

good value. in my opinion this is the best detroit area resteraunt for the money. you could argue a hand full of resteraunts are better ( whitney , lark, tribute ect. ) of course you will be paying 200.00 for dinner there. for 80.00 two people can eat here. i've ate here at least 75 times. if you go have the butternut squash soup, ( my wife always gets the mushroom both are so good you live on them )house salad, filet ( which is so good it could be served at any of the above 200.00 places ) and the chocolate ganash. only draw back is the service is just ok. but overall you will say this is the best dinner for the money in the metro area.

Average. In my opinion the food here is average here at best. I know it's a popular spot but I just don't like it. The service can be very slow, bordering on dimwitted.

Best Steak. The food at Steve & Rocky's is exceptional. It is probably some of the best in the Metro area. The atmosphere is also nice. The service is very good.
