Tips for Gina Agosta Salon

Ruined my hair!!!. Gina Agosta RUINED my hair! The turned my hair an awful color a second girl had to "fix it". It was just okay when I left and I was terrified of washing it. Sure enough...I washed it the next day and the color ran out. Now I'm left with GREENISH BROWN HAIR! I explained to the manager herself how unhappy I was and she just stood there like a deer in headlights. I had to pay $94.00 for the worst hair I've ever had in my life! Not only did I have to pay....they did absolutely nothing to correct the situation. Perhaps if they had better customer service and actually fixed their customers hair they ruin I I wouldn't be so inclined to leave them such an awful review. But they didn't care about my hair so here is their review. Do not go here unless you want to pay $$$$ for a crappy hair color. Unfortunately my hair is so fugly and I have no choice but to walk around with bad hair because now I don't have the money to fix it and it's too fried after two hair colorings in one day. It's so ugly people can't help but ask where I got it done!

I agree with Mname. I believe you. I had major problems with Gina Agosta's too. That guy above you must know them personally. My troubles occured when Gina slips in other people and does thier hair while I sit with a wet head in the middle of winter. This occurred 3 times. I will never go back to pay big bucks to be treated rudley, insensitive, and like a piece of S**T. And pay well over $200 for it. I had my hair colored. HOWEVER, if you are into S & M the I would highly reccommmend this place. When they do their work it is excellent but they have NO people skills

Great Salon for All your Needs!. I have been going to Gina Agosta Salon since I moved into the area in 1999. I started by getting facials. At that time their facial area was almost non-existant. Since then, they have really added on..they have a whole spa area now dedicated to just nails, facials and they now offer massage! Nice! I used to go to Salon Nadwa down the street to get massages and now can get everything done at Gina Agosta. I have also tried the color department. I started originally with Tommy Ann, she has since moved, and I just floated around until I found someone I liked. I ended up really liking Ashley and now sometimes see Elle too. They are both really great colorists! While I was getting my color done one day they offered me a free blow dry with a stylist. I did take them up on the offer and have also been getting my haircut with Nita ever since! This salon is very nice, and accomodating. If you have never been here, you are really missing out!

in reply to jloose - I am legitimate!. I can assure all of you, especially jloose who said my review was a farce, that I am a (former) legitimate customer of G.Agosta - real person who had several bad experiences at this salon after Audra left. He must be a friend or relative of the owner (which is where I think a lot of the good reviews come from, as I stated in my 1st review). If I was a farce, why would I bother taking the time to register and write a review? Doesn't make sense.

However, on a good note, I just found out Audra is now back in Michigan and working at the Luna Salon in Novi. I HIGHLY recommend going to her. I haven't been able to find anyone that knows color like she does (don't know about her hair cutting because at G.Agosta the hairdressers do only color or cut and, if you don't get your hair cut when you get color you get the pleasure of blowdrying your hair yourself at the self serve counter (unless of course you want to pay extra to have someone blow it out).

I'm so happy Audra is back (at Luna) and even she didn't go back to G.Agosta! That says a lot to me.

Great place!. I have been at this salon now for over a year and recently had my hair colored here for the first time. I love it! I don't know why it took me so long. Jen listened to me and gave me exactly what i wanted! I would highly recommend her!

Set the record straight. This is in response to the post below...

Being in the industry myself I can say with the utmost confidence that the post below is a farce.

I have known of Gina Agosta Salons for many years and have a great deal of respect for them.

They employ quality hair design professionals and although you can't please everyone they do a really great job.

Please visit them with confidence.

who are they paying to write a good review???. I figure it must be friends/family of those that work there because I have never seen such a salon full of hairdressers with snotty attitudes. I started out with Audra who was great, but she left. Then my troubles began. First Kate, who never even spoke to me while she did my color, nor asked how I liked It (I didn't). Then Kay, who after she applied my color, sat me in the furthest dryer from her (on the hair cutting side) even though virtually every dryer was available. Worse, when I was done processing, she had someone else rinse me out and never even came over to see her handiwork. I've never had that happen in over 40 years of having my hair done - hairdressers always want to see the color they created and make sure you like it.

And that's just the coloring side. For cut I had the absolute worst cut of my life with Jon Paul, Marcie (or someone whose name starts with M-she never introduced herself) did a little better but her blowdryer had more personality than she did. Again, didn't ask if I liked it, and actually acted like it was a big inconvenience to her to have to cut my hair. Next I tried Linda next and boy does she ever think she is great. Not so much. And I really can't understand how people think they are reasonable. I've been coming out of there for between $130-$150 (cut and color) not including tip!!! Holy moly, would these hairdressers pay these prices themselves? I think not. That's just too much to spend to put up with these prima donas and not be happy with my hair. I'll keep searching, thanks.

very nice salon. I went to this salon and was greeted by a very nice girl at the front desk, i didnt find the girls there rude at all! She walked me back to my seat got me a coke. I had Stephanie the colorist give me the best highlights of my life. I have never been happier with my hair. I would recommend Stephanie to anyone, she is so nice she will make up for any rudeness you deal with at the front desk. (which i didnt)

RUDE RUDE RUDE. WOW! The girls that answer the phone are so rude. (can't imagine what the rest of the employees are like) The rude girl who answered the phone didn't even say good bye before hanging up (after her already rude phone conversation) ......just slammed the phone down. Nedless to say I cancelled my appointment. This will probably be one of those places that will go out of business because they can't get new clients or keep old ones! Too bad you can't give out no stars.

CONSISTENTLY RUDE FRONT DESK STAFF. By far the rudest, most arrogant appointment makers, receptionists, etc. The stylists and colorists are a little friendlier, but it hardly makes up for what you go through trying to make your appointment. I was forgotten on hold, called back and was cut off, called a third time and was reprimanded. All for a simple haircut appointment. Wow! When you walk in the door they can hardly be bothered. I also go there to get my hair done, i don't walk in with it perfect usually, and boy do they let you know you don't quite look up to their standards. Sorry girls, I'll try better to impress you next time with my wardrobe, etc.
