The chickenmakhni is very good. – You should go there and try the food.I just have to say the people that don't like this restaurants, they should try it one more time.
Indian Wildlife – Hey, I would avoid this place. We ate here on occasion and the food was always good until recently. We found what looked like something with LEGS in my son's samosa pastry.
We were nearly sick!
When we confronted the manager, he gave up excuses instead of offering to refund our money, saying that they didn't have "bugs in the kitchen."
The table where we sat nearly fell over when my son leaned in to eat. The seats were so far away from the table that he could barely reach his plate.
I've had bad restaurant experiences before, but not quite like this.
What is wrong with these people??
A Taste of Disappointment – This place would generate much more business if the kitchen staff wore hairnets. My family and I have dined here for several years but after discovering hair in our food on the last two visits, we are looking for another Indian restaurant near us.
The owner/manager is always angry in appearance, and will never offer up an apology if something isn't right.
The seats and tables are nearly falling over or in ill repair.
The variety on the buffet hardly ever changes.
After the last time we dined there and getting arguments rather than apologies, I don't recommend driving a block to eat here.
WORST in Twin Cities! – I used to dine here frequently, however the past few visits have been incredibly disappointing. The management seem in a rush to get folks in and out the door, constantly fetching plates and things off the tables when we're not ready.
When we need drinks, they are slow to respond.
The food on the buffet never varies.
We have found hair in the food that doesn't belong to anyone in my family.
The owners are never apologetic about a mistake, but give excuses and refuse to help.
We won't return to this place. We've dined here for nearly a year, but never again.
Unacceptably Poor Service – My fiance' have been eating for here nearly two years and went in one day for the lunch buffet,
The owner seated us at a table where the bench seat collapsed, then appeared angry when we requested another table.
After getting our plates and tucking in, my fiance' found a long black hair inside the baked samosa, intertwined in the food. She has red hair, so it obviously wasn't hers.
We told the owner's wife, who made no comment whatever.
Upon leaving, we told the manager about it, and his response was "they cut their hair in the back. It couldn't be from the kitchen."
Rather than an apology or a partial refund, he argued with me in Middle Easter style. Completely unacceptable, and having been loyal customers for two years!
We won't be back!
Just for the food OK but ambiance, character and customer service dont expect much. – The resturant had average food - good food (depends on the weather). The customer service is non-existent. I witnessed the staff insulting a potential customer in the restaurant in the full view of the guests.
I hope I don't get sick from eating here... – I ate at the buffet for lunch today and was very disappointed. I typically rate an Indian place on my favorite dish; Palack Paneer. Theirs was watery and under seasoned as were all of the other dishes I tasted. The rice was watery and had no flavor as well. There was no Naan served which is unusual for an Indian Buffet. The worst was that everything was cold, I think that would be a health code violation. The atmosphere was generally unappetizing because it was dirty. There were fake flowers on the table with a thick coating of dust among other things. I tried almost everything and ate hardly anything, payed my 10 dollars and left very disappointed. I was there at noon when most other places serving lunch are very full and there were only two other people there. I should have stuck with my first impression and left when I saw they were dirty and empty.
I've been saying it's good!!! – I've been visiting Taste of India for almost 10 years and I've always loved it!
It's finally started catching on with some of my friends. Everyone I take there seems skepitcal, but leaves loving it as well. The portion size is very large and I always leave wanting more but am typically unable to eat a good portion of my food. The basmati rice is light and flavorful, the chicken is always good to perfection, and the garlic naan crusty and warm.
Tried something different over the weekend and the chicken tandoor was came out sizzling and delicious. Just writing this makes me want to head back!
Delicious Indian Food – The food here is inexpensive for the amount you get. We ordered the chicken shai korma and palak paneer. The shai korma was a bit rich but had just the right amount of spices and was very tasty. Our waiter was very prompt with food and drink refills. A very pleasant dining experience. We will definitely be eating there again.
Tempting curries and pillowy naan draw crowds to this outstandingly spicy Indian restaurant. – In Short
Located in boxy buildings alongside highways, Taste of India's locations resemble your generic Denny's. But the similarities end with the architecture. With nearly 80 dishes, the menu offers a broad range of choices, from chicken, lamb or fish baked in the tandoor (clay oven) to lentil dal. The fish tikka (marinated, then baked in the tandoor) sizzles atop a bed of crunchy white onions, green peppers and tomatoes.
