5 Star Food, 0 Stars for Sanitation and 0 for Professionalism – As much as we love the bakery's cookies and other treats, Cecil's should be more careful about who they let serve customers and handle money. This employee took money and proceeded to place our food in the box bare-handed. To give him credit, he agreed that we were right about how employees should keep their hands clean/ use gloves when handling the food. Unfortunately, his poorly concealed sarcasm and chucking of the pastries into the box made him considerably less convincing.

We called afterwards, asked for the manager and explained what happened. He asked when we were in the store and told us he would try to watch over the workers. No apologies offered, he didn't address the issues in any satisfactory way and hung up on us very quickly. The unsanitary way the food was handled seems to defeat the purpose of Cecil's being "kosher".

Hopefully other employees are better trained because this place seems really great. I don't think we'll be going back any time soon though.

Best Sandwiches in town! – This a a great deli! I swore that after eating there I'd never make a sandwich at home again! What for? They do it better. The creamy cole slaw is addicting! If you don't order it every time you just think you have missed out the rest of the day! The best carrotcake! Of course you won't be able to eat it unless you stop for coffee, because the sandwiches are so large! A full 4 ounces of meat on every sandwich.

I've been to deli's in NY and Cecil's is like walking into a NY Deli, but better because they have a restaurante, so you don't have to eat on the run. They bake fresh bread, bagels and treats every day. Their staff is friendly and helpful.

Best deli in the Twin Cities! – I'm going to make this short and sweet, do not listen to the reviewers who rate Cecil's as average, they obviously don't know what good deli food tastes like. Cecil's is by far the best deli I have ever eaten at, and I have been to deli's in New York City as well as Chicago, where deli's are supposedly the best in the US, but don't take my word for it, try it for yourself, and I assure you, disappointment will not be one of the words that escape your mouth after your Cecil's experience. The sandwiches are simply out of this world, and the coleslaw is so good that you won't want to eat it anywhere else, I think I may have even wet myself after taking the very first bite. I have yet to be let down by either the food or the service, and even at its peak times where a line is starting to form, they still manage to get you in quickly. There is a logical reason that the ratings are as high as they are, don't be fooled by the naysayers, go to Cecil's now!

Popular New York-style deli near the Ramsey River has served breakfast and lunch dishes for over 50 years. – In Short
Cecil's has been in business since 1949 as a deli and opened as a restaurant about 20 years later. For breakfast, locals stop in for French toast that's thick and eggy. The grilled Reuben is legendary, and the turkey club oozes on toasty whole wheat bread is a popular choice for workers at the nearby Ford Motor Company and the College of St. Catherine. Two dozen kinds of mustard in stock at the deli.

After reading the earlier reviews, I was very excited to eat here. I must say that my experience did not live up to what I was anticipating. At best I have to give Cecil's an Average rating.

I would not drive a long distance to dine here.

Best sandwiches around! – I've been eating at Cecils for years and years now, and I just can't get enough. Their Russian Reuben is unbelievable, and if you like awesome cole slaw, their The Just Like New York is heaven. I also am a fan of the Rich Boy, but you've got to have a heckuva appetite to finish that monster off. I've never gotten anything breakfasty there but my dad swears by the lox omelette. The service is friendly and I always get some of their delicious hamentashen on the way out.

Reuben Heaven! – I lived in NC for the last 2 years and everytime I visited the Twin Cities I just HAD to have a reuben! I have never found a better once. They can't be beat.

If there were a best deli category, Cecil's would surely win. Their reuben is my favorite - with cole slaw, of course.

not NYC – Disappointing even as no more than a reminder of NYC. It does not smell nice, some of the terms they use do not translate well into NYC-speak, and reliables like matzha ball soup and roast turkey are shockingly sub-standard. But, like the editorial review suggests, the staff are sweet-as-sugar! No waiter in NYC would have said he was sorry after I tripped him like I did the waiter last night!

Best Deli in Minnesota – I have tried every deli near to the Mpls/St Paul Metro area and Cecil's the best by far. Their Russian Rueben is perfect, the Thousand Island Dressing has an ethereal quality to it. They have a large variety of sandwiches, salads & soups as well as great hand dipped malts & heavenly mini banana cream pies. The food is definitely the draw, the surroundings are nothing spectacular but what you would expect of a deli. Go there hungry the portions are large!
