Long wait, poor service – I had received a restaurants dot com certificate for $25 that I used for Pino's because it was nearby to parents home. We went there for dinner tonight and arrived around 4:50. They open at 5 so we waited in the car for a few minutes. When it was a few minutes after 5 we went to the door. It was still locked, and then a SUV pulled up with the owner and about 4 employees. This was the first bad sign, since nothing was prepped, ovens wouldn't be on, heck even the lights. So we sat down and waited while the disoriented waitresses took our drink orders. It took awhile to get that, and then once we ordered our food we waited for a horrifying hour and a half. I had my 6 year old with, and trust me, it wasn't fun for her either. When we did get our meal, the food was good, but felt over priced for the portions. The salad was quite sad, as mentioned by other reviewers, and also the drinks were never offered to be refilled. The use of the restaurants dot com coupon added an automatic 18% gratuity, which would definitely not have been given if not required. While the food was good, it was not worth the time or money spent on it. We will not be going back.
2 Strikes and they're OUT! – Our first trip several months ago was a huge disappointment. We waited 20 minutes for a glass of water, 30 to order and there was only one other couple in the place. The only redeeming thing two hours later is that the food was OK and the pizza was authentic Italian (we had just returned from Italy). The waitress didn't even acknowledge that she had done anything wrong. Fast forward 8 months....we thought we'd give it another try because of the authentic pizza. Upon entering, we told the waitress of our horrible ordeal last time, and told her we hoped it wasn'ty repeated. After she took our order, we saw people all around come in and get food, 40 minutes later we finally asked where our pizzas were. I had already shot insulin and was getting low. Another waitress was sent over to tell us there was a mistake with the order and only one was ready and she would bring it. 15 minutes later, we were still waiting, and yet a third waitress was sent over to tell us it would be a few more miinutes. Since this one at least spoke English we were happy to deal with her. Maybe another 10 minutes went by and we finally received the one pizza. What a disappointment. Gone was the authentic cracker thin crust. Instead we received a thick doughy mass covered with tasteless toppings. The only apologies came from the English speaking waitress. The interesting thing is that people all around us were saying the same thing, they were getting the runaround and would never come back. I don't know how this guy stays in business. Never again
(They only got a star because at least one is required.)
Decent Food, Poor Service – Our whole time took 1 hour 45 minutes. We were going to go to the Beirstube next door and probably should have. It took forever to get an order in and forever to get our food. Salad was prepackaged stuff, not fresh. Garlic toast was small and so garlicky it was spicy. Bread was dried out and not very good.
I had the fettuccine with prosciutto and mushrooms, it was quite good. Pasta appeared to be fresh and homemade, sauce was very buttery but good.
Kids had spaghetti and meatballs, it was passable.
Again the service was horrendous, I never got a refill on my coke and during the time we were there we watched a number of people come sit down then leave. There was no bar tender on staff and probably only 1-2 waitresses for the establishment.
Never again – This is the worst food I've ever had. The service was good, but the food was terrible. There is no way that this place should be in business.
4 groups walked out, we wish we were one of them – I guess when you see four groups of people walk out of the restaurant in the space of the hour, this is probably a hint that something is wrong. Most of the people walked about primarily because the service was terrible _ being seated and never getting an order taken, the two highschool age waiters know nothing about the menu and can't be found to fill water or deliver the bill.
My meal was ok, but my wife's lasagna was lasagna soup. Their bruchetta was $7 for four small pieces slightly larger than dollar coins with no basil- it looked like they sprinkled dried parsley instead. The salad was packaged iceberg lettice w/ carrots- no croutons. The Olive Garden makes better Italian food, and cheaper than this place. I have been to Italy twice and this was very disappointing. I can't understand how a company can be in business and operate that poorly.
Slow, tacky, bad service – My husband and I went on a Saturday night. It is located in a strip mall so we were not expecting too much from this place.
We ordered Bruschetta for an appetizer. It was soggy. The tomatoes were mushy. Not a great way to start a meal.
For dinner we ordered a pizza to share. It took close to an hour for our pizza to arrive at our table. Not once did the server apologize for the slow service. Nor did she explain why it was taking so long when there were only 4 other tables filled.
During our wait we witnessed another table ask to speak to the owner. She was told to wait by the bar and he would come out. He never did and she ended up leaving.
Another couple got sick of waiting for their food. They told the waiter they were leaving and started towards the door. The owner, Pino, started yelling at them in Italian from the kitchen (across the room).
The piaza we ordered was flavorless. I have had better pizza at Pizza Hut with less drama!
The only good thing I can say about this place is that the tiramisu was very good.
But the bad food, tacky decor, and rude behavior were not worth the $50 and 1 1/2 hours we wasted there.
Not even if it where FREE. – I would not go back if the food was for free. I ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs
It came with a salad. the waitress did not ask what type of dressing I wanted and delivered the salad dry with a tomato on top and pointed to the vinegar and oil on the table. When I asked what other type of dressings they had, she said they might have some ranch or 1,000 island. The lettuce itself came from a bag (not Fresh). How can a Restaurant of the class they are trying to represent serve such a salad and have no assortment of dressings.
As far as the Spaghetti and Meatballs, the meatballs where small, dry and so salty I could not taste all the fine herbs that should be in a good Italian meatball. The sauce tasted like tomato paste straight form the can with some dried oregano added, and the service was BAD. The pasta was good and very fresh (the best I have had in a long time) but totally ruined but the sauce.
Lunch Stop – Stopped in for a quick light bite before heading to an appointment, Had the bruschetta. It was fresh the bread was crisp and the tomatoes and topping was perfect. The price was great too! I'll be back to try more.
Amazing Food, great prices! – Loved the Pollo marsalla! and the beef ravioli! Nice family owned place. Will be one of my new favorites!Restaurant. com certificates rock!
THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD!! – I went to this horrible restaurant with my mom and sister for dinner. We walked in to find every table piled with dirty dishes. It took 2 different servers and almost 15 minutes to bring us menus, water and bread. My mom tried to order Fettucine Alfredo and was told not to because it was not good and several customers had complained about it and sent it back. She ended up with a dish similar in concept...pollo con asparagi. It was the worst thing she'd ever tasted. My sister and I were already done eating before she could even try to send it back. We had to flag down the servers several times to do this. In the meantime, we saw 2 customers standing in the kitchen yelling at the owner/cook. He was not afraid to yell back and it really spoiled my dinner. At this point, I was ready to get up and leave. We waited and waited for the servers to check on us, bring to-go boxes and our check. We had to ask twice before they actually brought anything to us. I ordered the lasagna, my sister ordered gnocci, which were both good. This was the worst service and overall experience I've ever had. The food was average, at best. The prices were VERY high. The restaurant dirty. Not worth your time or money!
