Located behind a sumptuous mansion, this three-bedroom carriage house offers a unique urban retreat. The mansion is run like a traditional bed-and-breakfast, while the renovated carriage house feels more like staying in your own luxurious home, with all the amenities of a B&B very close by. The property is popular with wedding and reunion parties. It is across the freeway from the Convention Center in a historic but somewhat rundown area of downtown Minneapolis.
The Details
Carriage house details are thoughtful: arched windows with brick and shingle framing, a winding wooden staircase and two bathrooms, one of which features marble walls and a Jacuzzi. Breakfast is cook-your-own, but this isn't a chore in the pretty kitchen with its Jenn-Air stove, microwave and dishwasher. The owners are happy to recommend local caterers if you want to throw a dinner party.
