I usually dont take the time to write a review on companies but i had such an incredible experience so i needed to take the time. I had many estimates for new furnace and airconditioner given to me but after sitting with Chris and having him explain every step of the process i knew this was the company for me. There pricing was competitive and everyone was so helpful. They were able to install the next day and they made sure tarps were laid down and my house was kept neat.i will refer them to all my family and friends...matter of fact, my friend decided to use them as well. Sorry this was so wordy but most people only take the time to complain. Thanks Residential Heating and Air!!!

So I never write reviews, positive or negative, but its been three months since my horrible experience with Residential Heating & Air Conditioning and I can't help but still experience this nagging feeling that I have to warn other consumers to not waste their money on this company. So here goes... I purchased a Living Social for "Twin Cities Duct Cleaning" to have my air ducts cleaned out at a $99 value who in turn sent out Residential Heating & Air Conditioning (this was never addressed however they stuck a 12 by 10 inch sticker advertising their services on my furnace which took 20 mins to get off and to this day I still can't get the sticky part off). It was 2 techs who arrived at my door, Derrick and Autumn. We stood in the basement together near the furnace where Derrick proceeded to tell me about their services and how I should upgrade. Needless to say he hadn't actually looked at anything in or near my furnace or asked when the last duct cleaning was done, but was concluding that I would benefit by getting them. I told him that I'd lived in the house for 1.5 years and didn't see the need so I wanted to stick with the original purchase. He then decided to change his demeanor completely like being there was a huge waste of time and told me that the service I had purchased on Living Social didn't actually clean anything, but just blew the air into the middle of the duct causing the dust to just sit there. You see it was another $99 to have it sucked out of the other end and in addition to that the Living Social had no guarantee of work or warranty. Of course that makes sense since he just told me that the original purchase wasn't actually doing anything. Later while Autumn was pretending to do something in the basement, I was in the kitchen with Derrick signing paperwork about there being no warranty. Anyway, at this point I decided to ask what the point of the Living Social was, since he said it doesn't do anything and considering it was supposed to be worth $99. He responded with "yeeeaaa so why did u get the Living Social, I mean what did you think you needed it for?" And that was answer enough. Please don't go through this company for any work done in your home or business. They are dishonest and use Groupon and Living Social to get any bit of money they can from consumers as I'm sure that given their bad business practices they don't get too many calls for service without using them (there's one for Twin Cities Duct Cleaning put up every month). **UPDATE** it's come to my attention now that the Twin Cities Duct Cleaning company in fact does not exist and Resedential Heating has just decided to use the name to advertise their Groupons since their true name holds no value. Its true you will find a website for both companies with two different phone numbers, but dont be fooled, they are the same business with the same Minneapolis address. They couldn't have a Groupon without making a website with the same name. The sad part is there is a reputable company called "Duct Cleaning Twin Cities" that receives pretty good reviews that Resedential Heating has obviously decided to strategically name their Groupon after so when someone types in Google looking for reviews before purchasing the Groupon they see only ones for a company that appears to be the same one but is in no relation.

Poor Customer Service – I would not recomend this company to anyone. After cleaning our dryer, the dryer vibrated very loudly. They came out twice to look at the dryer but denied that they were the result of the malfunction even though it started vibrating immediatley after they serviced it. I then called centerpoint out and within 20 min. they had it fixed and the problem was a big chunk of lint that was blown under the drum the first time it was serviced. I called Resedential Heating to expain their responsibility and Renae( secretary) was extremley rude and I actually had to hang up on her because she wouldn't stop yelling at me - the customer. NEVER go through this company.

Best service for price and very good with children!!!!!! – In June our air conditioner stopped working at night and I have 3 children of my own and 3 in my home daycare ranging in age from 4 months to 9 years, as well as two dogs. Well I called that evening (at about 8p.m.) and due to my circumstances they rearranged the booked schedule and fit me in first thing the next morning + they answer after hours. a real person! The repair guy that came out was great with the kids and all the questions, I tried to keep them out of his way but as curious as they are he had alot of patience and spent the time to tell them what was happening. Then came to me and spent more time going over our options for repair. Once he did that I was expecting a crazy and expensive bill figuring you get what you pay for but he handed me a bill that was more than reasonable....the other thing was that there was not additional labor charges for him to tell us the problem. The last people I had out told me that it was $80 to tell me the problem but when I got the bill it charged me for another $80 for the 15 minutes he spent looking at it. The Residential heating guy, Dave, told me how to take care of the system the right way. With all the activity in my life I usually get done with a company and feel kind of cheated like they know that I don;t have hours to spend with them but he was detailed, quick and very good with all the children and activity. I don't think I will ever use another company for anything I need, I plan on getting a new system within the next couple of years and am going to hold onto their number and call them.

Excellent Service – I had trouble getting my air conditioner repaired by a company. The unit was out for almost a week so I decided to try another company. I called Residential Heating and Air and they responded to my request immediately, they came out the same day. We were very pleased with the service we received in such a short notice. They were on time, very polite and extremely professional. I would definitely recommend Residential Heating & Air in the future.

Great Job!

Keep up the excellent service!

Substandard and unhelpful – Hired them to replace 1 furnace. They recommended we install 2 new coils as well (duplex.) After tinkering with it for a bit, he says he is going to install the furnace backwards, for code. I asked if this would cause any issues, he said no.

After working on it for a while, he then tells me he was surprised that the office didn't call someone in to move a water heater (that was near the unit) over a few inches instead of having him install the furnace in reverse, as it would have been much easier. News to me! I would have paid for it to be moved, myself, just to have it setup neatly. Anyway, not a huge deal (disappointing)...until he finishes installing units & informs me that the 1/4" tubing that was part of the original install (done by Centerpoint, 5 years ago) was not the right spec. so he can replace both, at my cost, or I can talk to them about it. Why did Res. not tell me this originally!? He left the tubing hanging.

Centerpoint looks at it. They say 1/4" is correct & show me the spec. in the book for the unit. I call Residential Plumbing and Heating Inc., they send out a tech. They seem like they are going to help at this point. The tech looks at the AC booklet & agrees that the 1/4" tubing is correct, then looks at the booklet for the coils they installed & says that we now need 3/8" tubing. Also points out that both tubing lines (liquid & gas) are too short for the reversed unit.

You would think that they would help me out now, right? Nope. Residential calls me the next day saying that the tubes are too long & the wrong spec and that they will replace them AT MY COST. I ask them if they feel that they have any responsibility & they say no. I point out discrepancies, they do not budge an inch.

After a month, Centerpoint Energy contacted them. Res. offered to do the work at 1/5 off. I went for it as opposed to losing even more $. The work was fast and seems OK. Not happy but at least they did something.

Showed up to collect the check and not much in the way of customer service – I had called this company several times to get a resolution to my AC/Heating Installation. They sent over a contractor to install the unit and when finished he packed up his tools and walked out the door, without so much as a word about the install being completed. During the install he damaged the copper tube going the out side condenser unit. I called the office and got no one to return my call or come over to fix the 90 degree kink in my line. Since I told them that I was going to run the electrical myself, they choose not to provide me with information on the electrical requirements for the install.

Chris my sales guy was not interested in me as a customer once I signed the contract and paid him the deposit. I had a second unit installed and I wanted to purchase from them and have it installed, but since I had been dismissed as a customer I took my business to someone who actually installed a better unit at half the cost, with 100 times better customer service. Do not use these guys.
