Established in 1993, Pizza Luce began as a small space in Minneapolis?s historic Warehouse District. Over the years, our award-winning gourmet pizza, delivery service and late-night dining have earned exceptional customer loyalty.
At Pizza Luce, we take great pride in the quality of our food. We believe that good food comes from fresh ingredients, original recipes and happy cooks. We are strongly dedicated to maintaining the diversity of vegetarian and vegan alternatives on our menu (along with the carnivorous items as well, of course).
Minneapolis' answer to the East Village is this Uptown eatery. – In Short
Located at the epicenter of Minneapolis' trendy Warehouse District, Pizza Luce is a favorite with the neighborhood's young, savvy singles. This wildly popular restaurant is a hybrid--it's a crowded, noisy bar scene on weekends and a low-key family friendly pizza joint during the week. Sure, you can get an ordinary pepperoni or sausage pie, but why would you, with the menu's variety of out-there choices include baked potato pizza and pizza Florentine?
The BEST Pizza I've had – They have the best pizza I've ever had.
The staff is great and the service fast.
Seating capacity is a bit small, but it works.
What's not to love – I love Pizza Luce. This location is nice because there is a small parking lot, but plenty of street parking, unlike the downtown location. The dining room is nice and there are able to accomodate large parties. I would call to give them a heads up if you are going with a group. For late night dining, they offer about 4 different varieties of pizza by the slice.
Artichoke Ramekin! – I love this place! I was just there after the remodeling and it looks great. It doesn't look too different, but the bathrooms are so much better! It's still cozy and the menu hasn't changed. The artichoke ramekin is my absolute favorite. I love the unique pizza choices and cheap prices. And they deliver!
Didn't live-up to the hype – Not bad, but not good either. Would not recommend over some of the other Uptown Pizza joints for delivery. Just OK.
Yummy – Just wish they'd deliver to my neighborhood. That's the big drawback to Pizza Luce for me is I live out of their zone. The bianca sauce (oil olive and garlic) is a nice change from red sauce. Order the biance with chicken, mushrooms and sausage and you'll think you died and gone to heaven. The ceasar salad is nice and garlicy, pretty decent garlic cheese bread too. The pastas are nice and the meat sauces are very flavorful. They have a good selection of vegitarian options too along with cheese substitutes. They have something for everyone.
Slow but good – Luce absolutely deserves the title of best pizza in the Twin Cities. They are second to none in quality and topping selection. Unfortunately, they are pretty damn slow and seemingly indifferent about their efficiency. I never get it delivered if I want to eat it the same day--I go pick it up (and always end up waiting in the entry way). They have dozens of people working there but that doesn't seem to speed up the service. Despite that, I definitely recommend it.
TC's best Pizza – Compared to Chicago or NY, maybe the TC's pizza places don't exactly make MSP a pizza mecca, but Pizza Luce is the best we've got. Sure, the service isn't the grandest at the Uptown location (go downtown instead... much better), but the pizza is a winner.
why bother? – I've been 3 times and have come to expect pathetic service and average food. The pizza is incredible but other entrees and salads are average. The wine list is fair, however, the servers can't tell you anything about them. The attitude of the team is terrible and service is awful. Even after changing my expectations to what I'm used to getting...I was let down.
