Not what I asked for... not even close. – I've been a long time visitor to the new artists academy in Uptown & have always had decent service. Some artists are better than others - since indeed, they are still in training & you do get what you pay for in some instances. Today, I received a haircut from Paige. She was really nice & personable, but sadly didn't listen to one of my main points when receiving this haircut. My hair is curly & bounces up a lot more than expected when it is cut. I tried to convey this in the consultation portion of our visit, but either did not do so clearly, or she failed to understand what I was telling her. I even brought in a photo - and said, "I would like this, but longer". I asked for a cut at the shoulders & she proceeded to cut several inches above the shoulders without checking to see if the length was where I had wanted it. It would be kind to say that the results are not what I had asked for. Specifically, I look like I am wearing a mom helmet. My hair is WELL above my chin, ending at mid cheek length... NOT pleased. I will absolutely pay more next time & find a stylist who listens to their customers.

Disregard the negative reviews . . . Juut is my savior! – I have been going to Juut for years, and every time I go in, I come out feeling ridiculously gorgeous.

Certainly, Juut Uptown is now the training facility for Juut artists, and so you get what you pay for. I get my hair colored by one of the master colorists and cut by one of the never-ending revolving door of trainees, but skill level aside, they have all been just exceptional.

I believe that the artists at Juut take their mission seriously. They strive to not only make you look better, but they strive to make sure that you have an exceptional experience at Juut, and to make your day better.

Any negative reviews posted on this site I would not even consider.

Painful experience at Juut – I've been to Juut a dozen times, each with a new and different trainee. I went last night to Ali and her fake fingernails *dug* into my scalp during the shampoo so badly I wanted to cry! Someone teach this girl how to give a gentle shampoo! Her cut was alright, she did take the time to listen to what I wanted. But then when it came time for the styling at the end, once again, brush wacking me in the face, fingernails poking my ears, hair pulled SO HARD during the blow dry that it took a half hour I wanted to scream! She styled my hair like a Snooky with boofant height, I looked ridiculous. I was so annoyed and in pain after I left, I'll never go back again!

Juut Downtown-Pearson is awesome – Jutt Downtown has been my salonspa for two years. Typical I get my haircut by Pearson K. He has great skills {even works at NYC Fashion weeks every year} and looks good using them. I have really thick and course hair, so it is hard to find a stylist. He does an amazing job and listens well sometimes.

I have also gotten mani/pedis, facials and massages there and they were all wonderful. The front desk staff seem overworked or just senseless.

dull scissors, bad attitude, 4" I didn't agree to lose!!! – What can you say!?! A day before a big event, this b****h unevenly chopped off my hair and subtly insulted me.

The only thing green about this salon is the $$$.

Stay away from this chain!!!

I found another place and got a $40 fix. Very expensive experience. But I have learned my lesson!

I honestly won't be surprised when they go under.

JJ from Juut – I heard JJ left and went to a salon called John Richards Salon in Minneapolis. I've already made my appointment with her. I just LOVE the way she cuts my hair too!

Tired of searching. – When I lived with my parents I had a fantastic stylist and colorist at a salon in my home town. When I left for college, I began with what would become a continuous search for a stylist who would make me feel/look great. I tried the salon near campus, which had cheap student cuts and was a quick walk and was never terribly impressed. Then I got a gift card to Juut . I had never been, so when I called to make an appointment for a cut and foil, I was not caught off guard by them giving me only one appointment time and one name. Halfway through my color, the colorist asked who was cutting my hair and I said that I didn't know. When he checked we learned that no cut had been scheduled. Thankfully they were able to find someone to blowdry my hair. So, I scheduled an for a cut appointment with that stylist. The color I got was fine, not inspiring or amazing. It looked nice and natural, but most people, even my close girlfriends, didn't notice, which is disappointing after paying almost $200. The cut I got a week later was also fine. Not exciting and not better than the cheap cuts I'd been getting while in school. I expected more them.

Recently, I had another appointment , I called the Roseville location and asked for a stylist based on price. I got a cut with JJ. She was AWESOME! I got a great cut, she listened to my input and also helped me find something that would flatter my face. I was so happy and have gotten so many compliments. I had found my stylist! But, alas, on Monday I received a call from Juut saying that JJ is no longer with them and asking me if I'd like to reschedule my next appointment with another stylist. I haven't called them back yet. I just don't know what to do based on my inconsistent experience I've had with them in the past.

I guess I've never had a bad cut or color, but I don't think they necessarily deserve all of the hype they get. Maybe I'll try the stylist my friend uses, and if that fails just try another salon.

By far the best! – From just moving to from Boston to Minneapolis I was left with a really over grown hair cut! I was referred to Haley at uptown salon but after calling there I found her at the southdale mall location! Pulling up to the mall parking lot was diffrent but easy to park! The service she gave me was outstanding! By far better than the $120 haircuts I was paying for on the east coast! She is easy going and really a good listener! Because I have difficult hair I'm always weiry about the first cut with somebody new but she was amazing! She even gave me a special style for going out that night!!!!!

Even though this location is closing, Juut is not worth your time – Juut is a large corporate conglomerate. They don't care about their customers (or their employees for that matter). Stylists are ALWAYS in a rush, always. I walk in, sit down in the chair and leave with the same haircut I came in with. Not even refreshed. I'm convinced their sheers are blunt and actually don't do anything. I think the stylists and other employees are better off without Juut. They have talent, but they are so pressured to produce that it doesn't have the chance to come through. I have found a better salon. Referral: Salon Stella. By far. Four stylist chairs, not 50. Personal service.

No Daymaking for This woman! – I have been to many Juuts before and have never found the right stylist! Every time i go in my stylist is at lest 15 min late and seem to hurry me through. My "consultations" were pretty much telling me what they want to do and i had no say what so ever. I really was not happy at all with their recent price raise for their already high prices. The only good thing about them was their front desk people, who when making small talk with are not treated with respect from David Wagner and their corporate office. The one salon i was somewhat happy with was Uptown, but now i hear that is becoming the training salon. I was really enjoying the Aveda Products but now just started Using Kerastase and Pureology. Im defiantly going to recommend MarcDaniel Salon(read my review) in Maple Grove. So if you are considering trying Juut, i would really recommend reconsidering it! You can get a much better haircut for a lot less with a stylist who listens!
