AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – We live only a few houses away from Peter Pan and my 14 YO daughter saw the "We Clean Uggs" sign in the window and decided to give PPDC a try. She was quoted $30, asked to pay the $15 deposit, and told the boots would be ready in approximately two weeks. To begin with, Peter Pan never called to notify us that the boots were ready. OK. However, when my daughter verified the boots were ready and went to retrieve them, she was shocked to discover that Peter Pan wanted an additional $25, rather than the $15 she was expecting. The clerk told her that she had been quoted last year's price and that they could not honor the quoted price because "the store had to make a profit." Determined never to do business with Peter Pan again, imagine our horror when we got home and found the boots hadn't been touched!! They didn't even smell like they'd been cleaned!! Needless to say, we demanded the boots be sent back and re-cleaned. We could have bought better looking used boots for $40 to begin with!! THE WORST DRY CLEANING EXPERIENCE EVER!!
Quality of Service has diminished over the years – I have had my clothes cleaned at Peter Pan, for the past 10 years or more. When I first became a customer and Sally was the owner, the cleaning was great. Later years Mary became owner and for years it was still great. My last encounter with the cleaners leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. I went to pick up my dresses after 3 weeks and one had spots and something red had faded on it. The other dress wasn't ready. I went back in another week or so, to get both dresses, and the one had not been cleaned at all, but it too had something red faded on it. I asked for the dresses just as they were. I tried to pre spot and wash them, the faded spots didn't come out. I am devastated and decided that I need to be able to trust my dry cleaners. I can't trust Peter Pan anymore.
Poor service, esp. for price – I have been going to this dry cleaner for five years, more out of convenience and loyalty (my mom worked here when she was a teen). Once, they lost my pants (eventually finding them), and twice they have promised me my clothes/goods on a due date and NOT HAD THEM READY. For the service I receive based on the cost, I'd expect more. I am not going back again.
Ruined – I broght a fo-fur comforter in to be drycleaned. It took them over a month to clean the comforter. I called once and they were not able to find it. When I finally picked it up the fur was completely matted down and the comforter stunk like harsh chemicals. I asked the manager what chemicals were used, and she refused to answer. Her excuse was that it was in the plastic bag for so long. She then charged me full price for their terrible service, and reccommended that i brush it with a cat brush. It seriously looks as though it was shoved in a machine and set to air dry. I would never reccommend anyone to this place. Poor service and quality!
Nightmare – Some things in life need to be low maintenance - dry cleaning is one of them. I brought in 20 items for cleaning and 2 for repairs of small holes along the seam. How many total visits did I have to make to obtain all my items? Four!!! How long did it take for the small repairs? 26 DAYS!!!! And the items hadn't even been pressed yet! She stepped in back to quickly hand-iron them and still charged me full price. After complaining about them to friends, I found out they had ruined friends' items. I will NEVER use Peter Pan again.
