Biggest rip off artist ever, never go through them for a tow. They are rude, they will place your vehicle in the wrong area of the parking lot before you even get a call from dispatch telling you that they are there with your vehicle and when you do get down to where they are at to tell them that they are in the wrong area and before they even unhook it, the driver will tell you that they will have to charge for it to be moved while its still attached to their truck what BS. And when you are talking to dispatch after talking to the driver on the phone explaining to them what the tow truck drive said she tells you to hold so she could contact the driver and while they are talking you can hear in the background the whole conversation between the driver and the dispatcher. Eventually after you over hear the whole conversation the dispatcher will get back on and tell you its out of their hands. And when you want to make a complaint to the owners the dispatch will hang up on you if you even slightly raise your voice because of what happened which after all that I deserve too. And when you call back not knowing that the lady dispatcher, who called you in the first place had used her own personal cellphone to call you she threaten you by saying never call my phone or I will call the police when all your trying to do is get the owners info on where to make a complaint. I will never use them again biggest jerks in the world, bad business practice, hope they end up going out of business.
They told me I needed my battery connections cleaned and charged me $23 to do so. That evening, my battery died and wouldn't stay charged after repeated jump-starts and running. Prior to the cleaning, the battery was functioning fine. I brought it back the following day after three jumps, and they told me they would discount a new battery but they would not refund for the cleaning.
A++++++!!!!! About a week ago I had to come up to the cities for work meeting. I came out of my meeting to a flat tier called my road side and they called Jeff, Booby and Steve's. With in 15 mins the tow driver "Jeremy" came and had me back on the road in know time. THANKS!!!!!!!!!
Stay away!!!!!!! We sent an undercover car into one of the Bloomington locations. Car was wired for video and audio. The process of creating damage was captured. We have 2 other cars making the rounds now.
This operation will be exposed on fox 9 news in the near future with a companion piece in both city papers.
Don't go there for car fixes! If you need an oil change they will be ok, but they WILL rip you off if they work on the mechanics of your car. I had a broken window lever and I went in to ask how much it would cost to fix it - they said that windows don't fall off track that I would have to replace the entire window at at least $500. Also, we went in for a simple fix on my light. They said that the back breaks were so bad that they would call the cops on us if we drove away. Feeling pressured, we fixed the breaks - the bill came to OVER 700$!!! Even with a 10% discount the pretended to give us. Like I said - DO NOT let them fix your car, unless you don't like the money you work for
Very displeased. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS SHOP. They WILL find a way to rip you off. I have two complaints, one that I will be taking to court if need be. First, I brought my 04 Town and Country van there because it died in their gas station across the street. They said they had to tow it across Central and charged full price for the tow. Said nothing was wrong with the alternator, replaced the battery with an undersized house battery that died a week later. I took the van to my friend s shop and VIOLA, the alternator is shot. Fixed for less than the battery and tow from JB&S. Next event, about a week and a half ago I took my 99 Grand Prix there for intake work, crack in the plenum. ~$1100 later and I walk out. They decided to also change my oil despite the fact that I said not to because I do that myself. Fast forward to this weekend, first time out on the highway since the repair, and I throw a rod and blow my motor. Get the car towed to my home, take a look and realize the oil pan plug is hardly even on, barely enough to hold it in place. The incompetent tech couldn t even remember to lock the plug down and it cost me a perfectly good motor with a significant amount of aftermarket improvements. Everything I ve read and seen about this place suggests this is their MO, that they regularly fix cars in hopes that they ll be back in for the major repair they re about to require. I m currently persuing this with the company and will be contacting my insurance and attorney regarding this matter. I will definitely post back any results.
Ripoff artists, beware! – I'd foolishly succumbed to a door-to-door salesguy selling a discount card for Jeff's BS (hey, that works...) in which I got cheap and free oil changes and other discounts for $60 or $70 bucks. Thought it was a well-established place and gave it a go. Oil changes are slow, but I live close by and my husband can give me a lift.
Trouble started when my check engine light came on. They diagnosed a wrecked cylinder, and $500 later, I was back on the road. Light came on again that same afternoon and car DIED on the highway. Free tow, did some more repairs. Came on again--this time when I was hours away for work. Nervous to drive it at all, but what do you do? Brought it in when I was back home, they diagnosed the OTHER THREE cylinders were about to fail, and quoted me $750. That got me furious about the price for one, so they said there may have been an error, we'll give you $180 back and not charge labor for the cylinder. Foolishly I relented.
Fast forward from this winter to last night when I dropped poor car off for an oil change and a headlight. Oil change with card was $10. Headlight? $42.53. No, it's not made of pixie dust or platinum. That's the price plus labor. Labor??RUN AWAY.
fast and helpful "tow truck driver Keith" – my girlfriend had a car problem the other night and so our motor club called Jeffs bobby and steves to assist in our misfortune. there was a driver i think "keith" was his name and he came out there within 5 mins of our call even though the club told us it could be about an hour! when he got there he told us to hop in the truck for our safety and to stay warm. he was very concernedfor our safety and had our car on the truck in less than 4 mins and we were on our way to the house. he backed up the car right up to our garage and somehow got the car right in the garage with all our stuff in the way. he was very respectful and professional. i would advise everybody to use there service anytime. quick polite and efficient. thanks keith and jeffs bobby and steves auto world for all the help and i will be referring all my friends and family of your services
Great People, Great Service and Great Experience – I have been a customer at Jeff's Bobby & Steve's since I moved to Columbia Heights 11 years ago. I find the staff and owners friendly and helpful. I buy my gas and have all of my car repairs and oil changes done here. They in my estimation always have my best interests in mind. They never do unauthorized work and do their utmost the help me when I am in need, especially in an emergency situation. Jeff and Bobby are businessmen and great friends and do their best to accommodate their customers. They are upfront and make sure that their employees do what they are required to do to make your experience with them as favorable as possible. If you go in with the idea that your always going to get a discount or that they will always make you the priority, your barking up the wrong tree. They value all of their customers and treat everyone fairly. Keep up the good work and expect all my business in the future.
If you don't mind your car being diagnosed at the service counter, (before it comes in the shop or a tech sees it) then this place is for you. They will diagnose recommend parts and convince you to approve a repair all before your car gets in the shop. Then when the real problems is found you will be presented an upsell repair. Kind of a 2 for 1 deal you pay for two repairs one correct and one that was a guess. The owner Jeff is a master at this. BEWARE of this man his only concern is the bottom line at the end of the day.
