Great thrift store though currently in a decline. – This is a great store that has plenty of room and lots of inventory. The employees are helpful and making a donation couldn't be easier.
The average customers are good too. I have been to some thrifts where the customers make you decide to not go back. Value Village has customers that keep to themself never grab or cause a commotion if you are looking at something, and do not snag itms out of your hand to steal a deal from you.
The downfall that I have seen happening in the recent months is that the prices are going way up. I don't know if this coincides with a new management system, but I noticed it when the new St. Paul location opened. I am not saying that things should be dirt cheap just because everything is donated, but what used to be a 2.00 book is now a 5.00 book. What used to be a 5.99 video game is now a 15.99 game. Items like electronics have also gone up. It may have been worth it to take a chance on a router that had no cables and power adaptor for 5.00, but it is not worth it to take the chance on that same router now that it cost you 15.00.
There are still deals to be had, but they seem fewer and farther between. I would still recommend stopping by this store, I still do in my Thrift store / garage sale / used bookstore rounds, but don't expect to find the OMG deals anymore!
A thrift shop overflowing with gently used items, Arc's is the best place in town to get cheap and green goods. – In Short
Arc's is like an eBay "best of." It's a warehouse overflowing with everything from women's clothes, kids clothes, holiday decorations, appliances and crafts. The store is vast and clean, and the collection of donated goods is, too. In fact, the store is such the epitome of thrifty, the volunteers here are even experts in thrift: During Halloween, they have costume consultants on hand to provide inspiration and to accessorize, spruce up and scare-ify each and every costume. If you're looking for a whole new wardrobe or want to redress your home or office, Arc's helps make it cheap and enviro-friendly.
