I agree with the other review for Carpet King. I had a similar experience. I ordered carpet through a home consultation and asked for the pad upgrade. A purchase order was given to me with only the total price, broken into two payments. There was no detailed receipt from Carpet King showing the price of the carpet, price of the pad, square footage and labor cost. I thought I would get the receipt with this information with the carpet installation, but did not. I have my doubts about the pad being 'deluxe'. The floor with the carpet on it is just plain hard! . My salesperson never called to check on my project, only emailed me back when I asked for a receipt with the amount broken down. That's when I started getting the run-around. She asked the corporate office to send one, but all I got was a copy of the original purchase order. I emailed her several more times and got different evasive answers. That's when the hairs went up on my neck and I started feeling like something wasn't right. I called her several times and finally got her on the phone and she offered to have her manager call me. He called me, I wasn't home but I called him back within an hour. Left a message and he never called me back, so I called the next day and he never called again. Finally I called the corporate office and spoke with Guliani, their customer service person. He was very short with me and said that Carpet King never gives receipts with the amount broken down. Guliani could use some lessons in customer service, that's for sure.
Bottom line - Dealing with this company left a really bad taste in my mouth. If you buy from them, insist on a detailed receipt showing the square footage, price of carpet and labor. If they don't give it to you, walk away and go down the street to Home Depot. I wish I had.
Poor Installation and Customer Service – If you go with them, you HAVE to watch them install the pad and the carpet. Careful, they will install a pad that is knowingly defective. We ordered the expensive padding that the sales guy talked us into with the foil backing and they installed padding without that in areas. We wouldn't have found it if the installation crew wasn't so messy and left scraps of it all over (in addition to staples everywhere). They say the foil backing fell off, but it's hard to believe it fell off an entire large section, or maybe they ran out and were to lazy to get new stuff because they were rushing off to another job. You also might as well hire someone to patch your walls too because they don't care for your home when there are inside. We had so much damage from them that was not minor touch up.
I worked with Guiliano, the guy who deals with all the complaints (yes they have a dedicated person doing that), to get resolution but he doesn't see the value in making sure the customer is happy.
Wanted to make sure that everyone knows what to watch out for if you do go with them, but I'd recommend you go elsewhere and steer clear of this business.
