One of the best oriental restaurants in the Twin Cities - highly recommended!. Great buffet with wonderful soups, entrees, eggrolls, etc. Only a very few "misses" on the buffet and their "hits" are superb. Ordering off of the menu is even better - and that's saying a lot. Nice ambience and quite a few tables set the tone for great business meals, relaxing everyday meals and with the wonderful service, even makes for a great casual date place. Family run and they make you feel like family - it's always very highly recommended to everyone I know/

The Best in Chinese-American Food. If you like Chinese-American food, you have to eat here. It's definitely not authentic Chinese food (check out Junbo or Mandarin Kitchen for that): cream cheese wantons and cashew chicken are NOT authentic. But that's perfectly fine with me.

I've only eaten from the buffet, but it's always varied and fresh (even at the off times when we tend to eat there). Contrary to the last review, there's always some sort of seafood dish available and no place is going to give you tons of seafood in any dish (you want mostly shrimp, make it for yourself at home). They also have the best hot tea around and you can purchase some for yourself to drink at home.

The service is excellent, efficient, and friendly. The staff definitely remembers us from visit to visit and is always willing to chat.

Buffet with just 10 verieties. I had been there on Mother's day special!! assuming the buffet will be good. It hardly had few items. No seafood at all, There were some shrimps that you can hardly find. If you think of a chinese restaurents with many starters and deserts, this is not the one.

The best Tangerine Beef Ever. My husband and I eat here as much as we can - wonderful food - awesome service - they remember us everytime and two of the wait staff know what I am ordering every time...I really love the appetizers as well. We have tried a variety of the menu and we love every dish! Please come downtown to Minneapolis and open another Star!

Real Chinese Food, Not Americanized. Just like Chinatown in Chicago where I grew up. Fantastic and fresh Dim Sum. Much better than Mandarin Garden where the food can be old by the time it is served. Szechuan Star makes their dim sum when you order it, not before. The best place for authentic Chinese food I have found in the Twin Cities. Great atmosphere and service as well.
