Best Salon in the Twin Cities – When I first started coloring my hair I went to a salon in Woodbury and didnt know the different between was I was getting and what I could be getting until someone said "oh no honey, you need to be going to Rocco's!" Eight years later I've never been anywhere else for my cut or color. My hair can be pretty tricky but there is one person I know can handle it - Kat. As a crying 16 year old after volunteering for a hair show for Matrix I went to Rocco Altobelli for help and left feeling amazing from Kat's color and reassuance. All of this time later I am still seeing her!

Takes a bit of getting used to with the way Rocco Altobelli has set up their operators but once you know and understand the routine its the best way to go. Seperate stylists and color techs make for operators who really know and specialize in doing what they do best. For a company that has been around for years and has multiple locations, I believe they're doing a great job revamping salons when needed.

Like I said...I wouldnt go anywhere else. And neither should you.

who's the moderator – How can someone so sly leave such a shady review? Who's moderating this site anyway? Don't we have an obligation to write facts here people. Slander and Defamation of character will not hold up for people who want the "Review". bad cut... ok, bad color...ok. Check out the salon and really see if the rude persons "opinion" holds up. I have been to Burnsville, St.Paul, Roseville and Galleria and you will find great work in all areas of the salons!

Dont listen to below comment!! Salon is super pro! – So everyone in this world is entitled to their opinion, but that below review is just plain rude! First off, this salon is a super professional place that in no way reminds me of the 1980's!? Secondly, Kat is in no way anything like this person described her. She is real professional and most importantly, a GREAT colorist! I also happen to know that she is not a party girl at all. Judging by the name of this person below, I'm guessing this is another salon taking a stab at Rocco Altobelli and it's employees.

Every time I have visited this salon I was treated with the upmost respect, and have had a fantastic experience. Will definitely keep coming back!

TIME WARP... Gross! Spread the word! – I honestly walked in to the Galleria expecting a little more when I entered the salon. Talk about going back in time. This salon looks like 1982 barfed its self back up and out on this space. It was cold and you could cut the tension with a plastic fork. There was not a smile anywhere but on my face from laughing at myself for coming. There was a naggy brown (short) haired lady that was losing her cool at some young chick. If I heard "you know what I mean" again I was seriously going to stand up and yell at the lady and tell her to calm the heck down. Kat was my colorist. She smelled of cigs and had a raspy voice that only a party chick would have. Her clothes were way outdated (like the salon) and her hair was fried. Every time she spoke it was like nails on a chalkboard. She didn't say much and my hair turned out horrible. She also had no makeup on and she looked cracked out. I explained I wanted my highlights close and that's so far from what I got. They explained that it was more natural. Gross! Don't go here unless you like crabby people and washed up party chicks that cant even put on makeup or take care of themselves.

Galleria,

Why would you allow such a distasteful place to be in your space? Maybe its time to evaluate who you do business with.

Will NEVER go back! – I was originally introduced to Rocco's and went to Jennifer in the Minnetonka Salon. I loved her, but she left after just a few haircuts. I moved to the Galleria location because it was closer to home and have had two horrible experiences. The first bad experience was with the color. I told the stylist that I needed to process longer and she assured me that "she put special chemicals in that hurry the process. WRONG! It was the ugliest color I had seen and went back a week later. Needless to say after processing twice, a lot of my hair broker off. The 2nd worst experience was with my haircut recently. I brought in pictures and told her that I just wanted some of the upper layers cut, the bottom layers and length were good. I walked out of there with my hair cut shorter than it's been in 3 years. To top it off, one side it cut shorter then the other. I'm afraid to have it fixed because I may end up bald. I will NEVER go into another Rocco's again. I believe for the cut I receieved I could have paid a whole lot less and got more of what I wanted at Great clips. The one thing I learned is that the stylists like to do what "they" want, not what you asked for.

Editorial Review by Allison Mistica – Midwestern chain offers nail service and haircutting, texturing, and coloring in a minimal black-and-environment.

Great salon – I have had a number of services at Rocc's over the last few years...Hair cuts, hair color, massage, waxing, facials, manicures. All have been very good to excellent. You can spend a lot on the services, or you can spend a little less and still obtain high quality work.

Hate it – I went to Rocco Altobelli Samon in Burnsville to get highlights in my hair. I am Asian, and had previously dyed my hair, so the stylist asked if I wanted to dye my hair to my natural color before we put in the highlights, and I agreed. Well, she put jet black color into my hair, when my hair color is dark brown. Not only that, but she didn't apply the highlight tint quite correctly, so it looked like I had black hair with grey streaks. I had to go back another day and have a different stylist correct it; which took about a whole afternoon, no lie. I will stick to Cole's Salon, thank you.
