Great burgers, excellent fries, new management – The new manager has done wonders with Zeke's. I have been a customer for over 5 years and they now have side salads, new fries (which are wonderful), desserts and wine! Zeke's is a great neighborhood joint. I highly recommend the broasted chicken, a burger, ..and the fries are a must. Love the soup and club too!!

Broasted chicken is the yumm! – zeke's is a neighborhood bar and grill. They've recently applied for a full liquor license, which means better beer and mixed drinks are on the horizon. No, it's not a fancy place. The vibe is not high energy. Its sort of like being a walk on extra in an episode of cheers. The usual suspects sit at the bar and play along with "Cash Cab", a few guys will usually be throwing darts of shooting pool, but mostly, they're shooting the breeze. The phone rings constantly, because the saavy nearby neighbors, like me, are calling ahead and asking the cook for some of that super juicy broasted chicken. Yes, I meant to type B-roasted. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the process, Broasted chicken is cooked up in a pressure deep frier- the way the Colonel used to do it back in the day when KFC actually tasted good. This produces a gorgeous crispy skin on the chicken and keeps the inside of the chicken juicy and good. Skip the ho-hum jo-jos and opt for the cole slaw instead and you've got a tastey meal. Low cal- heck no, but it tastes good.

Bottom line- call ahead and order your chicken or learn how to blend with the natives. They don't bite. That costs extra.

Friendly staff, below par food – I stopped into Zeke's for the first time on a Friday night at about 6:00. There were people at the sitting at the bar so we grabbed a table. As soon as we sat down we felt we couldn't talk any louder then a whisper without disturbing the staff or their other patrons. Not quite the atmosphere I would except from a corner bar. We played a few games of pool before the food arrived. The pool tables were in ok shape. It was obvious the tables had been abused recently. The food arrived quickly however the chicken sandwich was nothing special. The buns looked and tasted like they were from a gas station. Overall the chicken sandwich reminded me of dorm food. My friend had a burger. The burger was decent however the bun wasn't that great. The beer prices where about average. Overall Zeke's projects it self as a bar however the atmosphere was similar to a romantic restaurant while the food was of cafeteria quality.

Best burgers in the Twin Cities! – Best burgers in the Twin Cities. They do what they do very well; it's a burger and beer joint - but a very good one. Their burgers are perfectly seasoned and succulent, nicely toasted buns. Service has always been good for me, and now that there is a smoking ban, smoking is no issue. It's a nice, cozy place to have a very tasty burger and fries. It's fairly dark and relaxing inside, too, as opposed to the glaring brightness of a lot of places. Love it.

Better than Fast Food – Zekes is best described as a joint or a dive. It is a little hole in the wall suburban strip mall bar/restaurant. It is actually difficult to find if you don't know where to look.

They don't have much on the menu other than your typical bar fare. Knowing that, you may still go there for respectable fried and grilled eats. The burgers are fairly good but not the best in the area.

Zekes is pretty good overall, especially when you want to avoid the more "trendy" haunts. You can be certain you won't have the yuppie crowd waiting for the pool table here. This is definately a neighborhood and blue collar kind of place.

OK local place – This restaurant is pretty close to my house, and close to where I play softball. It's a good place to dive into once in a while, but not an everyday hangout. Great for after a softball game at Dred Scott.

Food is good, I like the lemon pepper chicken sandwich with fries. Sometimes with cole slaw. I think the beer is 3.2% which some people hate but I really don't mind. It's only 1% or so less than regular beer anyway. Every time you buy a pitcher they give you a card. Collect 5 cards and get a free pitcher. Free beer, can't beat that. They also have a few video games, pool table, and a big screen TV that always has games on it.

Service isn't the greatest, especially considering how it's not real big and it's usually not packed.
