Honesty is not their policy!!!! – I recently moved to Chesterfield and needed a state inspection for my 2008 Toyota RAV4. The manager asked if I wanted my oil changed for around $34.00 including checking all of the fluids and the tires and I said yes because it was convenient. An hour after I arrived at work , the manager called to inform me that my vehicle required a special synthetic oil and the price of the oil change would increase to $59.00. Previous to my encounter with Dobbs I had been taking my vehicle to the Toyota dealership in GA and AK and not once had they mentioned a synthetic oil. I questioned them however I was busy at work and agreed because manager stated that I would need to sign a waiver in order for them to put regular oil. He also said the synthetic oil was stated on the oil cap. The next day my car would hardly start. I did not trust Dobbs so I took it to a toyota dealership. I also called 3 dealerships and asked about the oil and they allsaid the same thing that a 2008 RAV4 did not require synthetic oil. I asked the dealership to check Dobbs oil change and other items. It seems that the tires were overinflated and some of the fluids were not topped off. and suspiciously I needed a battery the day after I was at Dobbs. I called Dobbs to let them know jhow dishonest they were. I would not recommend them and they are a minute from where I live.
GET A 2ND OPINION – few years ago they did state inspection for my 2004 Benz. They told me that my car did not pass the inspection becaue I need new breaks. I took my car to the Tri Star (Benz) dealership to evaluate for new breaks. My car did pass the state inspection and they did not think that I need new breaks.
A year later I changed my breaks. Question is were they triger happy to generate new business for themselves or were they proactive wanting me to get new breaks a year earlier? You make the call. I moved to a different location for my future car needs, even thought they were only 30 seconds from my work.
WORST AUTO CENTER EVER! – I had a Nissan 350z and put my stock tires and wheels back on for the winter and of course I can't put my 19" aftermarket rims inside my 350z so I borrow a friends SUV one week later and they said that they cannot hold them longer than a week or else they get to sell them or give them to one of their employees. Shady worst service ever! Don't let them offer you to do anything! They are just a bunch dishonest people that steal your stuff. Even if there is a week holding rule than after I spent money on new tires and them having my information home number, cell number address that they could have contacted me to pick them up?? Will never go back to Dobbs again.
