Sound like a townie. Locals know it not as the Magic Carpet, but as the Rug, or sometimes the Dirty Rug. It is what it is.

Great Atmosphere. during the week they play alot of 80's hits but always have a ballgame on or whatever st. louis sport is on that night. Tues and Thurs is Karoke night which is a lot of fun. Fri and Sat get a little packed but a great place to dance can request songs to play without a problem. Best Buns comp. on fridays for the ladies great drink specials and a hole lot of fun.

need better music. The Magic Carpet Lounge is the one and only place in Festus that has a dance floor. I would assume that this means people are welcome to come and dance. However, when a good dance tune is played and people are dancing, then the DJ plays another song that makes EVERYONE leave the dance floor, something is WRONG. I love to dance but I don't love to drive to the city to do it. The Magic Carpet needs to invest in some modern dance music and stop playing all those mullet-sporting hair band songs from 1981.
