GREAT WOOD OVEN PIZZA and SALADS!!!!. Our favorite restaurant for pizza and salads hands down! My mouth is watering as I write this, seriously the wood oven pizza is like no other and it's reasonably priced. They also have the best salads, so fresh and great dressing! Their mango tea is also a favorite with my family. Parking is no biggie, there's a public parking lot just opposite the restaurant and we always park there. Everyone is friendly there and I always tip at the end and not the beginning as someone mentioned and I've eaten here probably 25 times. Also, we drive 25 miles one way just to eat here and it's well worth it!

Excellent Pizza Choice in Clayton. The best part of Il Vicino is that everyone gets their own 9-inch pizza so you aren't debating on what toppings your group wants. I've dined at Il vicino probably 10 times and have yet to have a poor experience. The salads are great too as is the iced tea, which has a fruity flavor.

Not bad, better then expected.. Their pizza was much better then expected. I watched the pizzas come out of the oven and I thought oh no because they were so thin and they looked like they lacked toppings. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The Bianca pizza was actually very flavorful. They put some kind of spicy oil on the pizza which adds a lot of flavor. Even though the pizza was thin it was about 12 inches around which made it plentiful. Also, you get goat cheese and other toppings that you would not normally get at a chain restaurant. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the service was excellent. The order process was a bit unusual. You pay first then you get a flag with your order number on and then you sit down and someone serves you. I didnt mine this, but you are also expected to tip at this time.

pizzariffic. The service has been absolutely outstanding every time. The pizza is amazing. Adults are allowed to get child-size pizza (only $3.50!). It's awesome to sit outside when the weather is nice. I went there for lunch today & my name was taken to be put on the list. Once we were seated, the host came by my table & said "Erika, how was everything?" So great!

California at heart, Brooklyn in attitude.. In Short
Authentic wood-oven pizza, minus the silly toppings, is the specialty here. Place your order at the register; servers bring your food when it's ready. Il Vicino's colorful, mosaic-tiled pizza oven is the focal point of the dining room. Try the Campagnola pizza, with sausage, wild mushrooms, goat cheese, mozzarella and fresh oregano. Another tasty choice is the pizza rustica, with artichoke hearts, olives, capers, mozzarella, oregano and roasted garlic.

Shut up Already. This place is Fabulous! And I get so sick of these wackos that rate a place terribly when everyone else in the world loves it. It seems to me that they just want to have something to bitch about. Get over it!

Pizza is great, salads are GREAT and the dressing rocks! The people are wonderful and the atmosphere is excellent!

Il Vicino is My Neighborhood. The best pizza in St. Louis. No others prepare pizza the way Il Vicino does, and the Il Vicino way is a winner.

The best americanized italian resteraunt. They have the best pizza that I've ever tasted. It's different though, so be on the look out for that. If you don't necessarily like the different kinds of pizza try the lasagna. It's the best that I've ever had. In my opinion, it's better than the pizza!

Pizza at its best!. Il Vicino excels in great tasting pizza. Its pizza has a wholesomeness and quality that can't be matched. The wood-burning ovens they use really give the pizza and the restaurant a nice aroma. The pizzas aren't that large, but in this case good things definitely come on small crusts. Anyway, the restaurant is also small but it makes for a moderately intimate experience. Also, you won't find all the typical toppings that pizza places usually offer. Yes, they do offer sausage and pepperoni but they also offer less commons toppings such as pine nuts and goat cheese (amongst several others). The one downside about Il Vicino is not really its fault. It's its location. Since it's located in Clayton, parking can be a nightmare. And to make matters worse, they offer no delivery service. But the pizza makes the trouble worthwhile!
