The worst FOOD I've ever eaten – It's been over 15 years since I had Imo's "Pizza" for the first and last time. St. Louis natives are the only thing keeping this business alive.
Four of us ended a 3-day road trip from California and arrived in St. Louis starving. Not knowing the city, we found Imo's in the phone book and got it delivered to our hotel room.
When four hungry college guys cannot finish even half a pizza, you know something is terribly wrong. The Provel cheese had the consistency of hot Elmer's glue and probably tasted about the same. I tried eating just the toppings, but they were too infected by this Provel vomit cheese. I swear the crust had to have been made by Nabisco. Ultimately, we went to a local bar for a couple beers to wash the foulness out of our mouths.
Imo's Pizza is not just the worst pizza, it's the worst FOOD I've ever eaten. This comes from someone who's had sea urchin and sea cucumber.
The State of Missouri should serve this to death row inmates as their last meal and that would save them from having to spend money on sodium pentathol and potassium chloride.
Taste of Home – Imo's Pizza is a distinctive taste, and you can almost always tell the transplants; they don't like it. The reason for this is simple; it's not like any other pizza in the country, at least that I've had. Provel cheese is softer than mozzarella, similar to silk tofu, so it melts differently and can cause huge hassles when you aren't used to it. Imo's has perfected it's use and made it a staple of St. Louis junk food. As someone who admittedly hates thin crust pizza, the St. Louis crust Imo's is known for is-in a word-addictive.
Pizza-Gross, Service-Worse – Seriously, what kind of cheese was on this pizza? It was like nasty American cheese or something, may as well have been cheese wiz. Seriously, what the hell?! It was the consistency of snot and the toppings were so saturated in the crap that even they were unedible. Dealing with nasty food is easy enough, just try something else next time. But the service was even worse than the food. Rebecca J., our "server" was a total bitch. She was snappy, had a bad attitude, and the more I tried to deal with it and be hospitable, the worse she treated me. I am the customer, learn some customer service, or get out of the industry because it is extremely offensive. Terrible food, worse service; just don't do it people, just don't!
Dying Man refused Imos’s Pizza by the Company
Today, Mark W Clark of Irvine CA who was just diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer was accused of not being at home when his pizza’s arrived. Knowing how important this was to him and with the help of his wife of 25 years took turns standing guard at the door waiting for FEDX to arrive.
They arrived about 1pm PST and Mark answers the door and accepted the package with great feeling of a home he hadn’t known for over 30 years. Much to his dismay when he opened the package it smelt like vinegar and the pizzas were defrosted. He was expecting a package like he gets from Omaha Steaks. But much to his dismay there was no dry ice and it wasn’t cold.
He immediately wrote to them in a email and they respond in kind, but then today Mark received the following statement from the company
“I looked into your order and spoke with FedEx. They said no one was home and they left the pizzas at your front door at 1:12pm. We do put 3 pounds of dry ice in these boxes. When I re send you the pizzas and the product they will come in 2 separate boxes. Someone must be home to receive these packages. On our site it states that is no one is home to receive the packages we will not be responsible for spoiled OR lost packages.
SO We will ship the product out Tuesday and ship Pizzas out Wednesday. Both packages will arrive on Thursday.”
Needless to say Mark was quite angry and now knows that there is no way he will have his pizzas due to his medical condition and all the tests and treatment plans begin. He can only hope now that God will let him accept a delivery.
PLEASE I NEED HELP IN THIS MATTER. ICAN REIMBURSE YOU FOR ALL COSTS AND YOUR TIME. THIS IS MY LAST WISH..PLASE HELP!! EMAIL ME AT MARKC6@YAHOO IF YOU CAN HELP!!
THANKS IN ADVANCE
THE BEST – the best pizza around. if you dont like it leave st. louis
Love IMO's – When ever I am not in St Louis, I always crave Imo's and only found a couple other places that serve provel outside the St Louis area.
Provel is a thing where people either like it or hate it. I love it.
I have lived all over the united states and even in several other countries, but when in St Louis I have to have Imo's.
Dear Jesus that sucked..... BEWARE – Oh my God.... that wasn't even worth the driver's tip. I'll give you one warning.... .......
STAY AWAY and do not order this pizza........ it was like eating ketchup and cheese whiz on a cracker.
(They won't let me give it less than one star)
Just arrived and was told IMO's is the best in town. Sorry to say, if this is the best...than I'll be terminating pizza eating in St Louis for life. This crap tastes like Hot Trash at best. Absolute garbage. I feel sorry for those who have never had real Pizza like in Boston or New York.
For true st. louis style pizza – You can't live in st. louis and not have imos pizza. Imos is a st. louis tradition. This location is the one my family goes to - they are always very nice and friendly. You can't go wrong with imos - from the price to the quality!!!!
